Not friendly at all, gingerbread cookie was over priced and was flavourless. Also tasted super old!To the owner: Put on a smile! You’re selling goods at a farmers market for goodness sake!

I ordered apple strudel from Ingrid last week. I didn't expect strudel to be made the very next day. This only confirms the excellence of Ingrid's services, which we, regular customers, are used to.The warm strudel is a pure hit of the Austrian apple strudel, which is recognized by those of us from Austria, as it is our most important national dessert.Warm strudel, smelling of cinnamon, cloves and raisins, melted between the taste buds in my mouth, and attracted memories from our hometown of Austria, which is unforgettable and invaluable for me. Thank you very much Ingrid for this unforgettable trip to our places!It is necessary to educate that the product" called strudel

Many horror stories of potentially illegal labour practices and inconsistent quality. Parents you gotta keep your kids away from her if your teen is looking for employment.

not only does Cake Lady sell mouldy baked goods and continuously pushes up the expiry date, but she is a tyrant who exploits workers and needs to be convicted for the criminal act of wage theft, as she refuses to pay for several “training shifts” and then fires people. She viciously verbally and emotionally abuses her staff-in front of customers no less! which we witnessed at the farmers market.She also hires Indian newcomers and racially abuses them- she even made one guy sleep in a barn on her property, didn’t pay him, as if he were her slave. You can find many complaints to the labour board. Please do not support this business, for sooo many reasons. To read the many local horror stories , search google for “cake lady Halifax Reddit” and “cake lady kiosk Halifax” and be prepared for your stomach to churn!!

Amaaaazing blueberry scone, so delicious! Really enjoyed the apple strudel & butter tart as well. :) The owner was very nice to us, all around great experience!

Tried the goodies at the farmers markets. The pastries are tasty and nicely sized! The scones were my go to. Especially the blueberry. The pricing could offer some deals. We bought 4 scones and had to pay individual pricing for each— a lil incentive to buy is always nice for customers!! Otherwise Good service and smiling ladies always greeting you!!

A very rude German woman selling dried out products at very high prices. I felt sorry for the foreign worker with her who looked like he was beaten down by her. She was so rude to my husband and I when I asked what some items were as there were no descriptions , that I said we were leaving; she could eat her dried out macaroons with cheap icing sugar “chocolate” herself. Never go there again

Cute location with excellent service. Pastries were okay. A bit dry but easy to blame the humidity when everything is left out.

I absolute love the wonderful desserts and pastries from The Cake Lady. I have been a customer for over 5 years. This bakery is fabulous. Their food is fresh and full of flavour. If you are lucky enough to enjoy their Strawberry Short Cake on Canada Day it is definitely a treat. It is delightful!My favourite is definitely their gingerbread cookies. The best I have ever had! They melt in your mouth. My family loves their Cinnamon Pretzels, they are incredible.They always have a new treat or something fabulous that I have never tried before. The two young gentlemen who work the location at the Halifax Boardwalk are excellent! Great, friendly service with a smile!

Serves stale pastries/cookies you could probably break a window with, claimed she baked them that morning when really she was trying to increase her profits. Also $23 for an 8 apple pie
