Paying border clearance duty is never a pleasure, and when a package is lost or damaged things become much more problematic. That said, firstly, the process of paying my border clearance fees via EZ Clear was just that - quick and easy. When my package arrived and was found to be damaged/opened, I discovered that as the clearing agency, EZ Clear would be the ones who handled the claim against the postal carrier via a vis the claim for compensation. This process too was handled in a quick and professional manner. They requested various documentation and photos of the package, and then initiated the process. It took a couple of months for it to work through the system, but once the postal carrier reviewed all relevant materials, my claim was accepted, and now compensation is being arranged.

This is a fraudulent company who falsely represents a third party Customs Broker for Canada Post collecting fees and duties. This is a scam as Canada Post does not rely on any third party broker. All fees or duties for a parcel is always collected upon delivery either at your door through the letter carrier or post depot upon collecting your parcel. Do not give out any of your personal information to this scam and block all of their emails. This information was confirmed by contacting Canada Post. Glad I called.

Customer service at Ezclear is great. I had a wayward package and their customer service representative (Maricel) was very responsive at each step of the way in locating my package and having it finally reach me. It was easy and pleasant to communicate with Ezclear and they were very accommodating with delivery requests. The clearing fee is worth the service!

I ordered a few makeup products coming in from GB, and got an email from EZClear telling me that I had duties to pay. Honestly, at first I thought it was a scam due to the automated emails coming every day. After a little while I contacted their customer service to find out how I can pay these duties myself to CBSA as I would rather not give my credit card information to a third party service. Their CS team was super responsive and helpful which is why they got 2 stars. They lost the rest of their stars because when I went to CBSA to pay them directly for the import duties, they advised that I didn't have to pay anything! I went from being asked to pay about $16.00 with the admin and broker fees, to not paying anything. It was such a hassle.

I read too many bad reviews and thought it's time to provide my honest feedback. I had ordered some stuff from UK which was shipped in 4 packages. Before I proceed, for people like me who do not know, EzClear collects the duties and taxes and submits to CBSA. They do charge their processing/admin fee in order to do this work (which naturally is based on their business work processes). Also for someone who wants to avoid these charges can always visit CBSA in person to get their shipments cleared out.Anyway, so when I received the payment notice from EzClear, I left them a voice message (on weekend) and they texted back saying someone will be in contact on Monday. On Monday throughout till Thursday, Maricel was in contact, helping me clear out the packages. It turned out the supplier had entered regular retail prices instead of the sale prices which were causing duties and taxes to be too high. She provided all the documents I needed to get self-clearance from CBSA (which went by smoothly as well). What I appreciate is the prompt email responses and also a courtesy note to waive off the other admin charges since my packages were split by the supplier. I even spoke to her on the phone to understand the issue in detail. In terms of customer service, great job Maricel!! I don't think these people put your packages under 'hostage'! They are the liaison between customer (us), CBSA and shipping companies. So thank you for helping me resolve this in a timely manner.

What a terrible experience I have had with this company. I placed an order at store in the UK and they so happened to use CitiLogistics as their shipper which for some really odd reason uses this third party broker, EZclear. I started getting harassed by email every day by this company asking for exorbitant duty fees. Weird thing is that I received a tracking number from Canada Post, where it said that my item was received by them and was on it's way. I even called Canada Post and they said not to pay any other company, that it was a scam, and that any duty fees will be paid upon delivery or at the local post office. So naturally I ignored EZclear's sketchy emails, and eventually asked them to stop bothering me. The customer service" rep told me that in that case they will be returning my item. It seems like they were actually holding the item hostage and decided to return it to the UK as a means of revenge for not paying their fees. The CitiLogistics tracking showed that I "refused the delivery of the package"

I received an email from Ezclear saying I had unpaid duties for one of my packages. I knew this couldn’t be, as I had prepaid all duties on my order when I purchased it, so I emailed Ezclear with my concerns. I got a response within the same day, the fastest response I’ve ever received from customer service for any business. My helper explained that they’d look right into the situation and would have news by tomorrow, which was completely right, as I woke up to an email saying all my problems had been resolved and that my package was on the way. Quick and easy, just great customer service.

I really don't know how they got my package info, but I got an email from them to pay DUTIES & TAXES on my Beauty Bay Haul ( from GB.) saying that I need to pay them 20$. After checking reviews, I double checked my tracking shipment number and guess what? I'll receive my package tomorrow by CANADA POST. It's A SCAM be careful guys! Don't pay anything, don't give your info!

Terrible service. The agents are unhelpful when you call them. They basically pretend to hold your package hostage until you pay their absurd brokerage fee. If you go directly to a CBSA office, you can simply pay the real duties fees, and they will arrange for your package to be delivered for FREE. No extra admin fees. But when you call EZ clear, they make you believe that paying their fees are the only option for you to receive your package. They tried to charge me 25$ of duties and admin fees, on a 30$ purchase... They also calculate the duties wrong. I actually went directly to a CBSA office, and they charged me ZERO duty fees since my package was only 30$. They didn't even understand why I was being charged duties fees on such a small order. Beware and validate their information before falling for their trap and paying them for basically doing nothing. I would give them 0 stars if I could. I do appreciate though, them getting into contact after I left this review. The woman who helped was very understanding of my frustration with their fees and provided me with the proper paperwork to self-clear my package. But, she did say that I was going to be charged for duties when in fact I didn't get charged at all. She also suggested that she could cut the fees in half. I think she was just trying to discourage me from going to CBSA. I'd rather pay no fees, especially since the Canadian border service agency (CBSA) says that I am not obligate to pay any fees to them and themselves did not charge me ANY duty fees. This is why I am updating my review with the full experience that I have had with EZ clear and the CBSA. Please be careful and validate their information before giving any money to them. They can easily miscalculate your duties fees as well as charging you an absurd admin fees.
