Guardian Heating & Air Conditioning
Guardian replaced my old AC unit that had died a couple years ago. They quoted lower than 2 other HVAC contractors and did the job professionally and on time. I really appreciated that Darren took the time to explain all my options and with that info I was confident in my decision on which AC unit was appropriate for my smaller home. Bottom line, Guardian provided top level service at the most reasonable price. I highly recommend

Guardian Heating & Air Conditioning
We called Guardian to do a service tune up on our furnace . First the service tech was over 3 hours late , from our appointment time. The “manager did call me to let me know, he was going to be late , which was fine. As soon as the tech looked at our furnace, ( it is an older industrial style furnace , that has worked great) he said that it was too old, and I knew where this was heading. He said it was time for a replacement. This was all before he took the cover off! This was all this tech kept repeating, that we needed a new furnace.It turned out the induction motor shaft was rubbing on the housing, and caused the shaft to wear. The furnace was working before he played with it. After the tech left , we turned our furnace on.... guess what no heat. I took the cover off, and low and behold, now the shaft was completely severed. All this and we had to pay $127 for the service call to break our furnace.I talked to the manager and he said he couldn’t find a motor. So of course they wanted to sell us a new furnace. He said it couldn’t be fixed. I looked on line, and found what I needed, to fix the furnace.The moral of this story is , be very carefull with this company, as we had a complete working furnace before Guardian came, and had a non working furnace after they left. All the while trying to sell us a new furnace. That was all they were interested in! Why replace a perfectly good furnace, when a $250 repair is all that was needed.I’m tired of companies like this taking advantage of people, and selling them products a lot of times , that they probably don’t need. How many times did this company sell a complete new furnace , when maybe simple replacement part was all that was needed?There are other reputable furnace repair companies in Penticton that you can select, that won’t try to rip you off!

Worst customer service . Was told we needed a new Airconditiner at the tune of $4000(2015) we have had nothing but problems with it every summer . Each year we call to get it looked at. They scratch their head and can’t quite figure it out. Give me some lame excuse that is always my fault why it isn’t working . This year we have been trying to deal with a fellow named Darren. He is the rudest most arrogant man , worst customer service . They are the slimiest shadiest company in the okanagan and I would not recommend them for anything . Absolutely the worst nightmare trying to deal with this company. Spend your dollars else wear consumers.

Guardian Heating & Air Conditioning
Guardian HVAC responded to service request within 24 hours. Service man [Jeff] arrived on time. Diagnosis was rapid. Refrigerant loss was replaced and leak dye was added. A return visit will be required after a few months to identify the leak source. My 8 year old Lennox A/C unit is still under its 10 year warranty. Totally satisfied.

We are so glad that Darren gave us advice and recommendations for the best furnace replacement for our home and our lifestyle. We are so happy with our new furnace and glad that we made our decision based on Darren's knowledge and recommendations and the quality of work. He made everything so easy for us for the furnace replacement and the the customer care and follow up all along the way has been first class! I am experienced with HVAC through my work. When it came to my own home and replacing my aging furnace, A/C and installing some tricky venting I spent time researching equipment and installers. I gathered quotes and spoke with industry experts. Guardian is not the fanciest but their team has deep experience and follows through on what they say. My installation was professionally completed and they exceeded my expectations by finding ways to minimize the drywall repairs needed and finding a rebate I did not know about. I highly recommend them and appreciate their excellent work.

About 3 years ago my central AC stopped working. I called Guardian an they came out and spent a few hours on the AC and assessed that the motor is shot and I need to replace the entire System. I can get a great deal for around $4,000. They handed me a hefty labour bill and left. Struggling with finances I opted on using a portable system. This year, my wife said “get another opinion from another company”. I was reluctant as I fully trusted Guardian and thought they were honestly telling me the system can’t be fixed.I called another company and he came and changed the fan motor and viola, the AC was working great.All repaired in less than 2 hours.

Just moved to Penticton a year ago. After having some pretty negative experiences with other contractors here, I was bracing myself for another battle, but what we received couldn't have been further from the truth.They were responsive (contacted 2 other gas companies about this issue by the way, neither RPR nor Mavco even acknowledged my enquiry), they were polite and professional, and most importantly, they were timely and performed the work on budget.Jeff and Darren were awesome, and while it's never easy to stomach a $4500 furnace bill (new furnace and installation), they made it as painless as possible.Don't mess around with other companies here in Penticton, if you need gas work, these are your guys!

Guardian Heating & Air Conditioning
We contacted Guardian in the summer of 2015 due to our air conditioner not working. They came to our house and assessed the problem. It was determined that the inner coil has a leak in it and would need replacing. We were told by the repair worker to contact the maker of our unit to see about warranty. Same was done and we were told that warranty was still on the unit until November of 2015. Guardian was told of this and we were assured that they would order said part and we would only have to pay for the labour, which is to be expected. We also told Guardian that it was very time sensitive as our warranty only lasted until November. They told us not to worry and that they would order the part and come back in the spring to put it in. Come spring of 2016 we called Guardian and they informed us that the wrong part was ordered and that they would have to send it back and get the correct part. By the end of the summer they told us that they were still waiting on the part. Spring of 2017 we call again. They tell us that actually the part is no longer in production and there is nothing they can do about it and that we need to contact the people who installed the unit. This is impossible as we bought the house from an elderly lady who had recently passed away. A few weeks ago I reached out to the manufacturer to see what could be done. I was informed that the part was in fact still stocked and they had no record of Guardian contacting for warranty parts on our serial and model number. They asked for more information on Guardian, their supplier, and the part that was needed. I called and left a message which was never returned. My wife goes into the office and the owner, Darren, stated that they no longer had a file on us. My wife then explained what information was needed and the background story to refresh his memory. Darren then says that my wife was mistaken and that the part was never under warranty. My wife corrected him and stated that we had the emails to prove it. He then said that he would talk to his tech that came out and get back to us and walked away. I called him again 5 days later and he said that he was unable to acquire the part from the distributors and that they no longer make the part, which is untrue as again we have a very recent email saying the part is still available. We have now reached out to a different company to repair. They are able to order part and did so the same day as coming out. The part costs $1700 plus three hours labour. This whole repair will end up costing us about $2000.

Jeff came next day after I left a message. He was very well informed, taught my wife and I more than we ever knew about our furnace, programmable thermostat and HVAC. He tested and checked all the equipment. Did a great job. We were impressed and felt it was excellent value. I would highly recommend them !
