The Bride's Closet

The Bride's Closet was the last store I went to on Vancouver Island (not on purpose, it just worked out that way) and I was getting stressed that I was going to have to travel to the mainland to find what I wanted.I was surprised at the beginning to learn that all the dresses in store were within my budget. It's clear that Fern has been doing this a long time and knows what she is doing. She picks well priced but beautiful dresses and there is plenty to try on and chose from in the store.I had a specific idea of what I wanted and was having no luck. Fern brought out one last dress that she thought I would like. She was right, it was gorgeous, unique and bonus, well priced.I wanted to do an alteration to make the back lower. Fern and the seamstress warned that the alteration might impact how it fits. I didn't listen and sure enough, I didn't end up liking the change and I asked for it to go back to it's original shape. Fern was so kind and accommodating to my changes. No one blinked an eye and it really felt like whatever I wanted they would do their best.Wedding dress shopping can be fun, but it can also be stressful. Going to a store with professionals that really know what they are doing makes all the difference. One thing to keep in mind is that your wedding dress experience doesn't stop at trying on and finding the one. You then have get alternations, decide on accessories, shoes etc. I would highly recommend that any future brides go to the Bride's Closet and utilize the expertise that Fern and her staff have.

The staff were awesome and the service was above and beyond. As a plus sized women, I didn't think I would find anything in my price range or shape to feel beautiful. They did alterations to fit me exactly, unfortunately I lost so much weight before my wedding that I had to go back. When I went for my fitting, I could put my hands in my top and pull - so seeing my distress, they came up with a plan. They re-altered my dress 2 days before my wedding so there would be no issue and fit. Thanks for making my day awesome.

The Bride’s closet was the second place I visited (first was a large shop in Vancouver) and I’m so happy I stopped by. Fern picked out *the perfect* dress for my Santorini elopement- it fitted the location and style to a tee. Payment options were easy and she held the dress while I thought about it overnight. Zero pressure, highly recommend. I wouldn’t have found this dress in larger more expensive, less personal bridal shops. Thank you Fern ❤️

My experience with The Bride’s Closet Started with a photo online of a dress I just had to have. When I found out that the Bride’s Closet carried the designer’s collection I was over the moon, especially knowing that the store was in my town! I quickly sent a Facebook message asking if they carried the Fellini dress style Y21656. Got a response in a matter of hours saying they have the dress and even in my size. I made and appointment for a few weeks later when my mum was in town and did try on a lot of dresses as well as the dress I was there to see. Fern was so helpful and amazing putting me in many dresses and styles for my family and friends even though her and I both knew the first one I came in for was the one! Everything from Alterations Bridesmaid skirts cleaning and many wedding conversations has been amazing and made my day have one less thing to worry about. I highly recommend The Bride’s Closet to any new bride and I know I will still be using Fern and her team for future dress alterations in my future. Fern was lovely. She was patient and sooo helpful when finding my PERFECT DRESS!!!! All the dresses I tried were absolutely gorgeous and such a selection. Fern also altered my dress which she did flawlessly

I purchased my dream dress from Fern at the brides closet. Fern was amazing to deal with the whole way through!From my large crazy group from AB to help pick the dress, to the postponement, to alterations. Fern always made me feel comfortable and welcome. She's extremely knowledgeable and easy to communicate with.The brides closet is the cutest little shop with SO many dresses to choose from. I came in with somewhat of an idea of what i wanted, but Fern helped me find the perfect dress.I highly recommend the brides closet!! Thanks so much Fern, it was a pleasure :)

Absolutely lovely experience yesterday with (I believe her name was) Cathy, and Fern, who made the daunting task of choosing a wedding dress so much fun! They pulled items that I would have never thought for myself, and my most favourite dress happened to be one I didn't originally think to pull! So thankful for their expertise and great customer service :)

Such a wonderful Bridal shop! I was looking for a specific dress to try on that I was struggling to find as it was from a few seasons ago. Fern told me about their “borrow program” with the designer where I could pay a small fee and have a sample size sent to the store. I went down this route and ended up purchasing the dress, however there was zero pressure at all from Fern.As I was coming in from Vancouver, Fern and her husband Leory picked me up from the ferry terminal, which I really appreciated. My dress came in very quickly and Fern was also open and honest about alteration costs.If you are looking for a dress, put this shop on your list! It is a beautiful space and is so worth visiting, even if it means travelling to get there!

Loved all the dresses I tried on! She literally picked so many beautiful and diverse choices as I had NO idea what I wanted and they all fit me like a glove. I have not posted my number 1 choice of course, but I absolutely loved the selection and service I received from Fern. I went to other shops in Nanaimo and even Vancouver. Her energy was so relaxing compared to other shops, and she always said just the right thing so that I never felt pressured. I was so pressured at the other shops that I just was instantly turned off. I absolutely loved my experience here and will be telling all my friends and family that they MUST GO SEE FERN!!Can’t wait for my August wedding, thanks to Fern for helping me find the most important piece of the puzzle!!

What a wonderful experience ❤️ The shop owners are so kind, welcoming and helpful. They have a great array of dresses to choose from as well. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!
