Celebrating birthday nephew, and his wife, service was amazing we had steaks they were absolutely fabulous, we all agreed that this was one of the best steakhouses in Ontario Canada. It’s definitely five star recommend must go try it out. Price is also excellent.Gino

Overall a wonderful experience.Do not recommend getting any seafood here.Highly recommend Madagascar Tenderloin Tips, Risotto and Brownie Ice Cream dessert.Things that can be improved:- (!!!) mixed seafood grill platter. My dining partner and I were very disappointed in this dish. The amount of fish given for 55$ was sad.. and it did not have any special flavours — in fact we both found it quite plain.- The French Onion soup. I know what a good French onion soup is because I have lived in France — and this one still has room for improvement. The biggest thing that could be improved is the bread used inside— it’s not the right kind. The right kind would not get as soggy as the one they used did. There was also too much bread. It IS good but it can certainly be BETTER, and it is not me being overly picky — there is really true room for improvement.- Crème brûlée: don’t get me wrong it was good, but it was not that great. If I’m paying a lot for it, it better be really good.Not for the things that were AMAZING:- the service was exceptional- Madagascar Tenderloin Tips (meat was cooked perfectly, flavour of the meat & sauce was OUTSTANDING, portion was good)- brownie dessert- risotto that came with mixed seafood dish- atmosphere in back room (definitely romantic)

Take Five Bistro
Take Five had some genuinely amazing food. Everything tasted so fresh! We ordered the steak tips and black and blue chicken entrees and they were cooked to perfection, and rich in flavour. Everything was made in house and our server Adrian did an amazing job guiding us through the menus.

We stopped by this place on our way home. Made a quick reservation and were given a corner table. Loved the dimmed lights & the food was delicious.

The escargot was amazing, the sauce complimented the baked bread amazingly. The mini beef Wellington was so delicious and tender, the gravy was really good too. The crab cakes definitely had real crab. The beef soup was delightful but the beef pieces felt like little steaks. The lamb ribs were exquisite. The apricot complimented the lamb very well.

We typically love this place. It’s a hidden gem. I cannot however seem to look past the bad experience I had this past Mother’s Day.We had made reservations, and at no point did they inform us that the Prix fix menu would be unavailable. We were seated with the menus including the Prix Fix. When we were informed we choose to remain and place order. Two out of six of our party ordered their pork chop on the main menu. We were then informed that they did not have pork chops available either. At this point it already put me in a mood of displeasure for my Mother’s Day meal, the only reason we did not get up and walk out was because we have typically loved and supported this place for many years now without issue. Our conversation at our table was « it seems not all good things last forever «As well in addition to our upset, the steak soup did not meet typical standards. One of two bowls came out with only one piece of steak and the recipients of the soup are sure that the recipe has changed.It will be a good bit of time before we return if we do, and I will curb my excitement of spreading Take Five as my favourite “above par” restaurant. So sad my Mother’s Day dinner wasn’t the typical and appreciated meal.
