Shalini is one of the absolute best people to work with in Thunder Bay for weddings! We decided to have her be a part of our day and we are so happy that we had her at our backs throughout the whole process!From the planning stages to drop off Shalini was an absolute gem! We both sat down with her and went through the whole day and talked about what our vision was and how we wanted the day to run and she made our dreams come true and then some. She was honest in what she thought would work and had us think through all parts of the day so everything would run seamlessly (which it did).We decided to use our own decorations and have her set everything up and gave her full control of everything. We did not have a super detailed set up we simply hanged over all of our items and let her work her magic.For our ceremony she set up such a light and romantic ceremony at the Chanterelle that took our breath away. She then flipped the space for our reception at the Chanterelle as well that was flawless. Never in our wildest dreams would we have been able to do what she did with our items and make it look like our dream wedding.We were able to drop off all of our items to Shalini a few days before the wedding and she delivered them to us back at home the next day for a carefree seamless wedding experience.Another reason that Shalini is absolutely amazing is that before the ceremony she came into the room where the wedding party was waiting to start the processional and managed the groomsmen. She took control and made sure their ties were prefect, their boutonnieres were on right and even went as far as fixing and gelling one of our groomsmen's hair that needed a little TLC.We are so grateful that Shalini was part of our day and would have had it any other way!Thank you Shalini, we appreciate you so much!!The Kruegers!

I started my wedding planning almost two years ago. From the get-go my sole concern (as I clearly explained to my coordinator) was my ceremony; a lot of time and detail went into it. Everything from the location, to the poetry reading, and the music was selected to be the most meaningful.My wedding was planned extra carefully as my father has had several medical issues in the past, and was re-diagnosed with cancer at the end of last summer. This made both the wedding, and in particular, the ceremony extra special for me and for us as a family.The only thing I requested from this vendor was to ensure the aisle was wide enough to fit my dress and to let me walk with both my parents by my side. A simple and doable request.We worked with Shalini Misir, who we hired to do our day coordination, and rented many items from her. Up until the wedding week was fantastic. There was no indication of issues. Shalini messaged and emailed promptly and provided good suggestions.On the day of the wedding, nothing until the point of the ceremony (other than a schedule mix-up) was wrong. Right before the wedding party started walking down the aisle, we all aligned ourselves ready to go. The groom and his parents went first, followed by the wedding party. Just as we prepared ourselves to walk out, Shalini hurriedly informed us that my mom had to walk ahead of my father and I, and that we will not fit down the aisle together, as a family. I had no time to react as we had to go. When we arrived to walk at the beginning of the aisle, the shock that I could not walk with both my parents set in, and my mom had to walk ahead with my father and I behind. However, the aisle was so tight that my dress would not fit and my father could not walk stably (he walks with the aid of a cane) so I had to pick up my dress.I cannot express the devastation I feel now that the moment I planned for two years did not happen, and that the only thing I had requested from Shalini was not fulfilled. I had reiterated over and over and over and over to Shalini that walking down the aisle with both my parents by my side was my one expectation. It was not delivered. Even in the event of rain, Shalini reassured us that relocation indoors would be possible, and that my wish to walk down the aisle with my parents would be fulfilled. It was not.After the wedding, I did contact Shalini to tell her about my devastation and disappointment. All I wanted was an acknowledgment of the mistake and for her to take responsibility and be accountable for what happened as a vendor.The response I received from Shalini was even more horribly astounding once I read it through. It was a partial apology that placed blame for the entire incident onto me, the bride, who hired her, and on all the other vendors (for other issues brought up) who participated in the wedding. I did not have issues with any other vendor. As mentioned to the Shalini I am not a client who is looking for a refund. I wanted admittance that something that was detrimental to the wedding was not delivered, and expected a sincere apology. When I did not receive a further response from Shalini, I went to leave a fair rating of 3/5 on Facebook and I was going to discuss both positives and negatives in my post. Shalini's business blocked me from posting any kind of review on their page. This is extremely duplicitous and underhanded, and completely violates the equity between a business and a client, as it manipulates ratings and misleads clients like myself to think there are never issues with their business. I would never disparage a business for the sake of ruining them. However, I think it is important to know a vendor's prior reputation and abilities when spending thousands of dollars. In addition, I am shocked that she would blame other vendors for what was clearly her own miscalculation. Shalini has acted unprofessionally and with an inability to accept responsibility for her own actions, and I would highly recommend that others beware of this vendor in the future.

Highly recommend Maid for the Bride for your wedding day. From the making of the timeline/ itinerary, the rehearsal run through, handling every little mishap on the day of the wedding, to helping clean up after, Shalini and her team were a dream come true! They prepared everyone for the day, made everyone feel confident and comfortable, and made sure everyone was having a good time while doing so! On your wedding day you shouldn't have to worry about anything and the Maid for the Bride team makes sure you don't have to!

One of the first things that my (now) wife and I decided to do when we got engaged was decide upon hiring a wedding planner. We had both been to our share of weddings both separately and together and had seen the effect of both good and poor wedding planning. We eventually settled upon working with Maid for the Bride, after some minor deliberations between a couple of different wedding planners in town. We ultimately went with Maid for the Bride based off what we had heard from some other happy couples. We got the Wedding Day Management package and found that to be a good choice for us.Prior to hiring Maid for the Bride, whenever my wife and I would talk about wedding planning, I could see her becoming a ball of stress as we continued talking about it. The first time I saw her fully relaxed, enjoying herself, and 110% happy with the planning process was when we first sat down with Shalini and we were provided answers to all the questions that we were trying to figure out, as well as plans for how to move forward with the next steps. Although my wife is incredibly organized, Shalini was able to give us that extra little bump of organization that helped to make the planning process go very smoothly. From the timeline creation to the venue layouts and overall flow, Shalini was always available to help us achieve our vision. In addition, she was very respectful of our decisions especially when it came to budgeting and would always make multiple recommendations based on both what we said we wanted as well as what our budget was. She also knew our venue very well and was able to go to bat for us on multiple occasions, advocating for our vision of what our wedding should be.The day of the wedding, Shalini was perfect at every turn, making sure that everything was done on time. She was easy to reach and access and had all the wheels humming along smoothly with her team. They set up all of our DIY décor and made everything come together seamlessly. The entire day was well planned, organized, and stress free, and we couldn’t have been happier with Maid for the Bride. It was clear that this was an event which was planned professionally, and we had multiple guests comment as such. Maid for the Bride was definitely worth what we paid for and more. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone who is looking to get married!

The responses I received were speedy and friendly and I was able to get exactly what I needed for an affordable price.They even are able to do custom made orders for me to get exactly what I wanted. I just love being able to get what I want for a good price.My bridesmaids just loved them!

Shalini and her team were amazing to work with. They took my vision and executed it perfectly. They took all my stress away and decorated beautifully. Sheena was hands down a save on our wedding day making sure everything was handled and nothing was missed. I highly recommend them for you wedding needs !

I’m a wedding videographer, and out of every single wedding I’ve been to, I have never seen anything more beautiful than what I saw tonight. Maid for the Bride planned, organized and coordinated the ultimate fairytale wedding that had some of the most incredible vibes I have ever seen while working in the industry. The entire team worked at lightning speed to turn the entire venue from a ceremony, to a reception in just a few short hours and it looked like something out of a movie! I don’t really even have any more adjectives to describe how great of a job they did! This was the first wedding by Maid for the Bride that I’ve worked during my time in the industry, and let me just say that they have really set the standard for wedding planners in the region. If you’re looking for a wedding planner, to me there isn’t any other choice than Maid for the Bride; if you’re looking to have the wedding of your dreams, these are the people who will work incredibly hard to make it a reality. Seriously, I don’t write reviews lightly; you all did an unbelievable job.

Shalini was an absolute gem to have throughout the entire day. She guided us through everything we needed to do and made sure that everything went smoothly going above and beyond for us all. Even running out during dinner to get me some more insulin when I ran out! She was incredibly helpful and I am immensely grateful that she was there to help the couple through the whole event.
