Haida House at Tllaal | Lodge & Cabins

Very good value for a wonderful meal. Paid $40 for a 3 course meal. I had the salad, halibut and raspberry pie. Dining area is very cozy and warm. The restaurant is in a log cabin by the river which is such a picturesque setting. Service was excellent!

We had a great stay at the Haida House. The staff are friendly and welcoming and take joy from sharing the beauty of Haida Gwaii with visitors. The restaurant is exceptional - breakfasts were very well done. We had dinner there 3 times and enjoyed each meal. The Chef is excellent - very creative and deliciously executed.

Stopped by t have a look and talk to restaurant. My daughter is a very sensitive eater and the staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. Discussed dining options with the head chef. So again to be clear I have not eaten here by the experience was excellent and I am looking forward to perhaps tomorrow if we have time. The service was fantastic and the menu looks fabulous. The menu changes every day which would make for a different experience each visit.

Kathy and her husband are incredible stewards of the environment and the guest experience at Haida House. The stay was very memorable for many reasons but especially because of their passion for the people and land of Haida Gwaii.Didn’t give it a full 5 stars because when I arrived my bathroom toilet wasn’t clean, also one of the days that I stayed the bathroom wasn’t cleaned at all and the sheets were just pulled over the bed. For the amount paid on a 7-day all inclusive stay I would have expected perfect room servicing.However, I did come to find out later that they’re having staffing issues as Covid is still very prevalent so hard to find people to work.The dinners were delicious every single night, lunch was ok (typically a cold sandwich and a salad) and breakfast was hit/miss. While the pancakes were the best I’ve ever had, the huevos rancheros were bland and the potatoes were under done. The location is incredible and Kathy works tirelessly to ensure the guests have an amazing tour experience - she was able to rearrange some tours for us last minute due to inclement weather. Moresby Explorers took us to Moresby Island (amazing!) and Marni was our cultural ambassador - can’t say enough good things about her, she has a wealth of knowledge and was very kind and compassionate with the whole group. I think once they’re fully staffed and trained they have lots of potential to be a full 5-star accommodation experience.

The Haida House is a gem. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and make your stay a wonderful experience. The location next to the river and close to the ocean is perfect. The food is superb. I hope one day we can come back.

What a magnificent inn! The craftmanship and design is beautiful, and the people make it memorable. The chef and the kitchen staff turn out elegant food in an innovative way, with a strong focus on local ingredients. Worth the drive.

Stayed at Haida House in August for six days in one of the cabins - it was amazing and I didn't want to leave. The cabins are tastefully decorated and have everything you could need - including a hot tub ! Perfectly situated in the woods close to the beach I had the best night's sleep in a long time. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful with amazing customer care and attention to detail. Food is amazing and they catered to my veggie needs. If I could give more than five stars I would - fantastic
