Kerrisdale Pool

A good pool if you are looking for something quiet, warm and small.Good for elderly and perhaps young kids if you want to entertain them, as there is very little in the way of pool toys or structures. But warmer than Hillcrest, and less crowded. Not so good if you want to train and do lots of laps as you will begin to sweat after a few. Having said that, if you are out of shape, and trying to get it back, it's a great pool to get the regime started again without freezing!Typical of North American poorly designed pools in that they allow shoes in the changing area! YUCK. Someone needs to see how Iceland or France keeps their changing areas absolutely spotlessly clean and dry. Even in winter. Smart, functional, well designed pools.

Well patronized Community Pool.Frequented by the neighboring community, this center and pool has a loyal membership. The pool has a raked depth beginning with the shallow end at one end and terminating with a deep end on the opposite side. Regular schedule of aquafit classes to suit every level of fitness. Aquafit instructor schedule is posted on one of the walls in the pool area. Young twenty something instructors teach classes from the deck and never in the pool unlike some other pools if the past. The instructors are enthusiastic and upbeat. Instruction routines are formulaic and predictable. Music choices used for some of these classes are tired and over used tunes. Classes are about 60 minutes in length and are available 7 days a week. Change rooms are separated by gender. Communal open showers for 8-9 users. Their locker room is tending towards the small size, with 2 banks of lockers and 4 curtained changing cubicles. Unlike other locker rooms at other community centres there are a pair of hair dryers available for members to use--a luxury. The locker room like the rest of the centre is showing its age with rust and wear visible in places. Despite these observations it's still a reliable place to come for an energetic pool workout.

Good basic pool, not as busy as other pools due to its basicness.

Friendly pool staff, not as crowded as the other pools. But this pool lacks a hot tub, sauna, and steamroom. The pool is warmer than a typical lengths swimming pool and is 30 meters instead of the standard 25. If you just want to come in for a leisurely dip this is the place to be. If you want to work out you might want to swim in a cooler pool.

A little bit crowded on the weekend, but water temperature, length of pool and deep are ideal. I like the way how it built, there is everything: watching sits, deep part of the pool for diving and shallow for beginners. Roof made as a dome, so you can enjoy sweeming in very bright and spacious pool.

I liked it....there were fewer than 10 splashers during my visit, which allowed me lots of time and space to hog a lane and work on rehab for my post-op knee. Althought there's no hot tub, I did manage to stake out a couple of inflowing jets to get some excellent therapy. Pool is a little dated, but so am I! And the showers are hot! Oh, and you need to provide your own lock for your locker.

Although Kerrisdale Pool is an older pool it is well maintained and super clean. The staff and lifeguards are friendly and attentive. I feel very safe at the pool and enjoy my workouts there.

Very nice place with an option to sit and watch from an outside patio which was cooler especially in July. Took my daughter there for swimming lessons and had a good experience overall. Only i feel there should be an option of universal showers.
