Great location for bldg supplies and brick, stone, masonry supplies. My husband is a local mason (owns and operates E&R Schwarz Masonry Ltd.) and whenever he is searching for that perfect brick colour, size, texture he connects with Dave Simon at Patene Building Supply and together they scour the Kitchener yard for that perfect match. This place is fantastic, amazing people. They have good pricing on the 5/8s, Rockwool insulation, resilient channel and number of other things one may need for their renovation or construction project.I wasn't aware of this store until it was recommended to me and found it best for some of the stuff that I needed. Pricing was better than big box stores so absolutely, recommend it.

I've purchased drywall, insulation from various Patene stores for many years. Gonna say that post pandemic has put a strain on this company. Counter Guys are great but that's as far as it goes. Had 100 sheets needed delivered into a walkout basement. Was told I should be grateful for the wet muddy wallboard and stop complaining.

As a general contractor I look to build relationships with the suppliers in order to help small businesses and at the same time get a better price on materials compared to big bucks stores.However this was not the case! I went and got some drywall and the overall cost was $50 more than I would have gotten from Home Depot.I should’ve compared prices on the spot prior to making the payment. My mistake.I went back after I compared prices and told them , the response was “ yeah we tend to be more expensive than Home Depot.They might have made a better profit on this order but they lost a client!I will never get materials from this place ever again!!You’re better off with another supplier or big bucks store!
