St George Banquet Hall

Recently attended a grad ball event here and the treatment of the guests by the kitchen was completely unacceptable. The food served was mediocre and of questionable appearance. The staff were obviously under-trained and under-prepared as they seemed distracted and confused when prompted with any questions regarding the meal.What's most disappointing is the venue falsely advertised a sorbet as dairy free when it contained multiple ingredients containing diary, 2 of my friends were hospitalized and had to leave early. Completely unacceptable and overall concerning that there was a chef in the kitchen who so blatantly and ignorantly made this error without considering any allergies or other dietary restrictions of their guests.Would give this place 0 stars if possible and would definitely not recommend.

We had our wedding reception at St George Banquet Hall on August 6, 2022 and couldn’t be happier with our decision to select this venue.We had the chance to work with Brani to get everything sorted for the big day. Brani (and his team) were always quick to respond to our many questions, supported us through rescheduling due to covid restrictions from the previous year, and were very helpful in meeting various requests. Our in-person meetings were always pleasant, and even when Brani was away on vacation his colleague Jana continued to provide us with great support.Jovan was the on-site manager during the reception, who we also happened to connect with during our set up time, and he was super helpful and kind before and during the reception.The prices/packages offered were perfect for our budget. The food served met the same standard we had during our food tasting/selection meeting. We heard from our guests that they were impressed with the courses as well as the servers/bartenders that were working that night. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful towards us and our guests.We are so grateful for the Hall’s efforts to make our day just wonderful. We would definitely consider booking St George for future events.Thank you so much!N&M

Classy atmosphere but disorganised and untrustworthy food service. Do not eat here if you have food allergies. Was served dairy free lime sorbet" but after feeling my throat close I asked to see the label and the 2nd and 3rd ingredients were cream and modified milk ingredients. Myself and 2 other guests ended up in hospital."

Grad-ball for ended with students sent to the hospital due to Chefs negligence on what “dairy” and “nuts” are. Food was horrible and the hall ran out of dessert for all the guests even though they had the number of guests ahead of time.

I attended a morning safety meeting here. Breakfast was included. It was all very good. Layout was fine and sound was good.

CAFA has held our Farm Tax & Legal Updates here for years and we are always impressed by the calibre of the staff, service and food. I highly recommend it for any function.

I had my grad-ball here on March 11, 2023 and would give 0 stars if I could.**CAUTION**: If you have allergies do not trust the venue’s food description. They claimed that the lime sorbet was dairy-free but several people went into anaphylaxis shock and had to spend the night at the hospital.On another note, attached is a picture of the veal and it’s as horrible as it looks. My stomach felt sick that night and the morning after.In addition, we waited hours for dessert but the staff forgot to serve my table. When asked “where’s my dessert?”, they said they only had 3 left for my table of 8 and gave us the remains. Not sure how this could happen if the venue had the correct number of food-poisoning-level veals but not dessert.Lastly, the washroom smells.

Went as a 600 person grad ball event recently. Venue was clean and well decorated.Food was the biggest let down. The veal was disturbingly gray (My camera upped the saturation, more gray than photos). The chicken was slightly better, but nothing amazing. The vegetables were literally just boiled/steamed. The best thing I can say is it tasted better than it looked? Coffee was served which was nice, but they ran out almost immediately and did not refill.Service was not great although staff were friendly. No water provided after an initial one glass. Had to ask multiple times for a pitcher to be provided. The card machine went down in the bar which led to large lines. 3 bartenders for a 600 person event also did not help.Staff in general did not seem well prepared for the event. The tables were cleared to make a dance area, but the lights remained on for the first 15 minutes until someone searched for the light switch to turn them off.Lastly, the dairy free sorbet was announced to have dairy 30 minutes after dessert was served. Rest in peace my lactose intolerant friends.

Serving staff is friendly but the food was awful. I went for my cousins wedding, the steak was so dry and gross. The mash tasted like dust. My fiancé has a dairy and egg allergy, their version of a dairy free meal meant veg and no potatoes for him, his soup was basically warm salsa.Not great for food. But the hall was clean. The washroom was not being maintained by staff properly and none of the stalls had toilet paper. It was also FREEZING. The AC was so high I had to get my grandmother a jacket from my car, and I had to wear a jacket inside

Hospitalized my friend for serving “sorbet”with dairy although calling it their option for those with dairy allergies. Completely unacceptable and incredibly not ok. Do not give them your business.
