I've trained in places in the UK, Thailand and Australia and this place tops them all. The coaches are so detail orientated and will take the time to work on every student. This creates such a positive learning environment and ensures that it isn't just the naturally talented that make it.It's a welcoming gym and is perfect for you whether you are a pro who wants to compete or a beginner who just wants to learn a new skill. The coaches always keep everyone safe and ensure that people are engaged in community and team spirit.There aren't many places that you can learn from a current champion for less than a yoga membership. One of the best workouts ever!! This gym is fantastic with a VERY welcoming feel that is made so by the excellent instructors. If you are new to martial arts, or looking to train with some professional fighters, Universal welcomes all levels. Thank you Dave, Andrew and Dejan for all your help, and sharing some laughs while hitting the pads.

Great energy, everyone is very friendly and positive. The best gym to learn technique to the fullest. The head coach as well as the other know exactly how make a class challenging but fun at the same time. With the experience of the coaches there’s no better place to learn to the fullest not just in the sport but also to do with life lessons and skills in the real world

I've been doing BJJ for about ten years now and recently had the opportunity to pop into a class and an open mat at Universal. Dejan welcomed me enthusiastically, making me feel at home right away - such a nice guy. The instruction was top notch, with something for beginners to advanced. Great mix of humour, discipline, and motivation. If you're looking for a sportive club that will push you to perform better, I definitely recommend you check out Universal.

I really enjoy training at this gym. The instructor Dejan is an amazing fighter and a great teacher too. There is a nice positive energy with this gym and the kickboxing lessons have been technical and fun. Check it out!!

This place is a gem. Great environment for everyone, beginners to pros, striking and grappling. I was more into the grappling, and appreciated the approach. Not focused on arbitrary tradition or dogma, more about being well rounded and effective. Coaches and other students are nothing short of amazing. If I was still living in Vancouver, I'd train here again.

This is a fantastic gym if you want to start your journey into martial arts. New owners Dejan and Neso are great people and experienced + knowledgeable instructors. I have always felt welcome at Universal as they have great people and friendly atmosphere.
