I can see why this place is a local favourite. What is there not to love about this restaurant located at a historical landmark in Kingsville Ontario. This restored train station has so much character. From the stone exterior to the interior which greets you with a warm Hello!The interior has a nice old charm feeling with lots of warm wood throughout the restaurant. The vibe was very warm, cozy and casual and relaxedThe crew @ Mettawa were wonderful…Jane was our server. She greeted us with a smile was friendly and attentive. Jane’s timing was perfect from the beginning of ordering throughout the serving of our food and right to the end. She made us feel very relaxed and never rushedAnthony & Janet… thank you!! You did not disappoint. The Spinach Gorgonzola and Apple Salad, Panzanella Salad, Falafel Buddah Wrap and the feature Pizza ‘Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese pizza’ were some of our dishes. Great Presentation!! All cooked to perfection and the flavour was Yum!! Thanks again & Will be back very soon!!

Beautiful restaurant, nice, quaint and a great restoration of the old train station.The service was excellent, the food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming back in the summer to try the patio dining!Please reserve your table due to them being so busy but it is worth it.

Delicious food and wine. We had tiramisu for dessert. It was easy to make a reservation by calling. Service was good too. Dedicated free parking was available in front of the restaurant. Simple ambience. We enjoyed our dinner here.

What a unique and amazing experience. The building has so much character and history. The staff was excellent and very professional. The food was out of this world delicious. Was a smidgen worried on the fine dining aspect, but went at a non-prime lunch time and we were greeted with smiling faces.

Mettawa’s is one of our favourite places to go. The vibe is wonderful. The restaurant is nestled on a lovely piece of property in Kingsville (many dogs walk by so it’s my favourite spot to « dog watch » instead of people watch). The staff are friendly and helpful with ordering and their specials are usually scrumptious!! The interior is small, cozy, wooden and even has a fireplace to make it that much more welcoming. They also serve warm bread with this delicious mix of sun dried tomatoes, olive oil and who knows what else. I always have to stop myself from devouring the entire loaf so I don’t ruin my dinner!Pictured below is what we ordered on our last visit in March for my birthday: Arancini, the steak with peppercorn sauce, veal with mushrooms and the special dessert which was to die for pistachio cheesecake with honey drizzle.Side note: normally we would rate this spot a 5/5 stars but our March experience was really upsetting. We went for my birthday and a lot went wrong. Our Arancini was cold on the inside, my steak had to be sent back because my medium rare was more of a blue rare, and the bread came late. This was just a one off, never happened before but our waitress was amazing about everything which made the experience a bit better - was just upset as it was my birthday celebration and wasn’t to its usual flawless standards.That aside, definitely visit for a nice evening whether for a romantic date or a little celebration.

We came here for dessert and coffee. The baklava cheesecake was delish, the chocolate molten cake was good. The coffee was great. I was happy. Definitely try their homemade cheesecake, they have a different flavor every month.

There is so much going for this place... love the historic connection, the relaxed ambiance outside, and the local food fares regarding the fish. I was disappointed that the fish was breaded, rather than than more simple with creative spices/garnishes. Also that our clean & well-trained sheltie dog was required to be on the other side of the fence near our table. She would have tucked herself under our table, and no one could possibly have been disturbed by her.Our server, Michelle, was knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly.

Had a amazing experience with my date. Took her for the dinner and she was quite happy. However coustumer service was not that great, had to wait for a while. We were in date so it was ok for us to wait but in normal dinner time gosh, it would be tiring. However the food was good, only drawback is service.

Discovered this hidden gem along the trail of Chrysler Canada Greenway. An old train station converted to a lovely restaurant. Stopped in for some beverages and an appetizer. Very friendly service but not cheap at all. Cocktails on average are about $14 each and they don't do large sizes.Will definitely go back for dinner. Food smelled great!! (Will update further if price is worth the experience later.)Updated: went back for dinner and it was fabulous! Fantastic service, atmosphere, food and drinks! Definitely recommend and will go back! Added additional photos as well.
