I shop in this store often. Yesterday was a terrible experience! I have found the general service and atmosphere have been steadily going down hill. Prior to COVID and the installation of alcohol and Reno's you could find the staff smiling, laughing and joking. They really seemed happy to work there. Now they are frowning and complaining to each other and whispering to each other. They now act like the staff at Loblaws. Yesterday I was trying to get a cart and it was stuck. The guy gathering carts almost hit me, and then flung a cart across the area while growling under his breath. Ii was pretty close to walking out. Service is EVERYTHING! Your prices aren't that good anymore....be careful Food Basics

Produce section is pretty good, nice selection and good quality. Hard to find certain things in the grocery area though. It's normally very busy which wouldn't be a big deal but there are usually only two, maybe three cash lanes open. Also there is usually only one cash available that you can purchase alcohol. The self checkout helps remedy some of this but it's not ideal when you have a cart full of groceries.

I am totally shocked as the lady in the self check out behave like we are animal. she just speak so rudely still i cant process why. I am totally disappointed with this behaviour and i wont go to food basis no more and i dont want people to be behave like this.. Are they judging us by our skin tone or the way we speak. I am spechless to this act.

not handicap accessible at all visited yesterday my mother who needs a handicap cart due to tears in her ncl, acl and meniscus. checkout 1 is always blocked off with displays or being used for storage, they had carts in the fire lane so mom couldnt go in other door to get the handicap cart to get it into the store she would have to walk to exit door outside then drive the handicap cart to the entrance on the road mind you so very dangerous that way when we complained the workers looked at us and just went about standing at the lottery counter, also restroom is not stocked or clean won't be going back ever again

Low quality produce, stocked shelving. It says discount store, I beg to differ. 4 bags, I case of water, I bag of milk and NO MEAT.... $178 I'll stick to Loblaws and independent

Sub par produce and bad customer service.Checking out the strawberries at the Food Basics on Kent Street, Lindsay.....of 20 the clamshell packages I picked up, not a single package was without a rotten or mouldy strawberry. When I advised the gentleman stocking these packages of strawberries, his response to me was so what...what do you want me to do about it" when I suggested the rotten fruit should be removed

I feel like when it comes to grocery shopping in Lindsay, the cheapest place to go is Good Basics, I think.The produce and fruit are typically already past their Best Before date or they spoil very quickly after buying them.The floors always look dirty.The aisles are too narrow, so you're always almost hitting people with your cart by accident.Their self checkouts are terrible.BUT, with all that being said, kudos to them for setting their prices a bit lower than their competitors. That speaks volumes and that's why I'll continue to shop there.

Food Basic's New Pharmacy is a pleasure to deal with. I've transferred my file over from a Drug Store and here Pharmacist Joe and his team provide quick, efficient, pleasant service. Everything you could need is there to choose from.I shop the store and find the renovated version quite a welcome. Aisles are well stocked, organized, and merchandise is reasonably priced; associates are helpful and courteous. Congratulations Food Basics.
