Cornerstone Motel

Out of the 5 hotels/motels we stayed in during our recent trip to PEI and NS, this was easily the worst. When we arrived, our room was hot (staff hadn't bothered to turn on the AC before we arrived) and the mini fridge was wide open and not turned on. It took hours for the mini fridge to get cool enough to put our stuff inside (good thing our insulated bag was efficient!!). On top of all this, our room smelled like mould and cigarette smoke. I didn't have time when I arrived to request a room change and we were only staying one night, so I put up with it. When I told the lady at reception all these things in the morning, she didn't seem sympathetic at all, insisting that the mini fridge cools off in 20 minutes, etc. this was a convenient location for doing the skyline trail at sunset, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Greg and Cathy were incredible hosts. Beautiful place to stay and Beautiful location. They set us up with the best info for our road trip through the highlands. Good place good folks

Stayed here for 2 nights in May when we were just starting our travels along the Cabot trail. The owners, Greg and Cathy, were so considerate in helping us get settled in and made sure we were very comfortable. We hadn’t decided what we wanted to do along the trail yet and Cathy walked us through all the spots to see and that was extremely helpful for our trip. They went above and beyond in their kindness and thoughtfulness for their guests!!All their recommendations were top notch and we really enjoyed our stay.You can’t go wrong booking here!

I booked a room just because it located minutes away from the Cape Breton Park.However, it was way better than what I expected. The room is clean, and newly renovated.Surprisingly, my room has a spectacular salmon-river view.Owners sent detailed messages for the check-in procedures, which made me felt welcoming.Although their restaurant was closed due to the shorted staff, they offer free coffee.

What a great experience. My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights at the cornerstone motel and had such a good time. The view was gorgeous, the hosts very welcoming and amiable, and the little trails close to the rooms made the stay even better.The Cornerstone motel is also right next to some of the major trailheads like Acadia making it a great hub to go hiking and it being close to cheticamp makes it an ideal place to stay on the Cabot trail

Came here in October, and was weary about staying at a motel. Boy was I wrong. The couple who run this motel are so kind, helpful, knowledgeable. The rooms are slightly dated but impeccably clean! There are trails out back where you can explore, and little benches to sit and enjoy the sunrise or sunset. Firepits as well. Not to mention super affordable. The location is perfect, with lots to explore nearby. 10/10 recommend, will be back here again. Thank you so so much for a wonderful stay! So so happy I chose this quaint little place on my journey along the coast

We had a very good experience here at Cornerstone in Cheticamp. The room was clean and had everything we needed...including 2 comfy shares to sit and read in. Our room overlooks the river and we just loved it!

This place was amazing. One of the highlights of our Cape Breton trip. The owners Cathy and Greg are so incredibly friendly and did so much to make our stay wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Cape Breton.
