Did not follow Covid protocols, didn't ask for papers, no masks worn by staff. Ordered potato skins and they were out. Didn't have the soups advertised as the specials. Restaurant side looks closed with nobody there but door is unlocked and open.Server was apologetic about the lack of soup and potatoes, however, the table was also dirty when we sat down. Silverware was dirty.Perogies (the decision after potato skins) were excellent.

Arrived to the restaurant only to walk in a see no one around. We then went over to a bar (Haywoods) that was attached and told we could choose where we would like to sit. The person that seemed to be the only person working was not wearing a mask. They were not following covid guidelines or protocol and did not ask for our vaccine proof. The food was good, nothing outstanding but tasty nonetheless. The waitress was polite and very attentive.

Great service, yummy breakfast, and cute patio with umbrellas. I asked for a veggie skillet with feta. It was delish.

First time in Helen's Hideaway but we'll worth the lunch visit. Down to earth clean eatery with friendly owner and waitress. As it was the first, it surely will not be the last.

Had the most delicious panzerotti when I visited last night, the staff were very polite and friendly nothing like service with a smile. I know where I'll be going from now on when I want a panzerotti

We were just passing through town. Wanted a quick lunch, was more expensive than anticipated. Must be fairly popular, tables filled and from conversations mostly local folks.

Helen's Hideaway is truly a hidden gem of the Petrolia main strip. Tucked around the corner near the historic train station, this unassuming diner deals out some of the best tasting breakfast delicacies you could ask for. What at first looks like dated decor soon gives way to a much-needed throwback to the days when food was homemade and full of flavor. The home fries are spiced to perfection, the bacon has an airy smokiness that screams country-western cooking, and the pancakes are a delectable fluff that almost makes you think you're eating marshmallows. All in all, an incredible breakfast.
