Nellie James Gourmet Food To Go
My first time ordering food from here and I found it very expensive for what I got. The food looked ok, but what I ordered was very average taste wise. The seared tuna was seared perfectly, but all I could taste was the over use of black pepper. The rest of the seasoning on the fish didn't do anything for the gorgeous looking Tuna steak. The two sides, rice and truffle mushrooms were just ok but nothing special. The truffle mushrooms where the best part of the meal. It's tough to screw up truffle mushrooms. My critique comes from my experience owning restaurants in the past and traveling. Very disappointing!

Nellie James Gourmet Food To Go
Been looking forward to ordering from Nellie James since moving to Dundas. I had the flank steak with roasted potatoes. My wife had the duck burger and roasted vegetables. Both meals were absolutely delicious. Couldn't be better. I love the fact that we can order different meals and not have to settle on one choice. I'm quite sure we will be regulars in the future.

We ordered turkey dinners for Thanksgiving this year and wow! Wonderfully delicious. Even the white turkey meat was moist. Great instructions for how to heat. Our first time ordering with Nellie James, and would absolutely order again!

Nellie James Gourmet Food To Go
This year we ordered Thanksgiving Dinner from Nellie James. It was outstanding! Fresh and unique, rich and satisfying. I was not sure what to expect from a catered meal on such a traditional occasion, but my expectations were blown out of the water. One of the better culinary experiences of my life so far. I will absolutely return to Nellie James, and I will be looking for an opportunity to eat at Nellie James Too (which, I understand, is the restaurant run by the same chef), as soon as I can.

Just finished dinner prepared by Nellie James. Delicious. Beef tenderloin and stuffed leg of lamb. Mashed potatoes and salad. The portions were generous. The instructions clear and the food delicious . There is no question that my husband I will order again and again and …. Every opportunity we have. Thanks Nellie James!

Nellie James over all is a good experience. We purchased the prix fixe for 48$+HST. The quality of the food is unquestionable. I think some of the tastes went over my head? We really enjoyed the salad for instance as it had loads of toppings, but didn't like the seasonings in the lamb pasta (too salty, and confused about sort or vinaigary-malty flavor). I'm sure others would like it, because I feel that the flavour they are putting out is intentional, but not for me.The main: meat loaf was nice and tender and came with a portion cup of its gravy to cook in while reheating, which is nice to maintain its moisture. Portion size was reasonable.The dessert was a Cardamon and pistachio heulva. Which I liked, but my fiance did not (he doesn't like cardamon).I think next time I'd rather get their a la carte, since their individual items have similar portions, comes with a side of your choice, which would be preferable as it seems some items on the menu are hit or miss for us.

Nellie James Gourmet Food To Go
First time ordering Nellie James to go, my first impressions were the large portions. I had the the Baked Pasta with Salmon, Capers and Dill. The only good thing to could say about this dish was that the pasta was cooked perfectly. On the negative side, the meal was completely showered in dill. I kid you not this dish could put someone off dill forever. I don't mean to sound harsh, but the portion was way too large and after 3 bites I couldn't eat anymore because of the strong flavours from the dill and capers. Not to mention, there was barely any salmon. I was extremely disappointed. However, the other dish my father had was wonderful. He ordered the Seared Ribeye with Garlic Butter. The meat was fabulous, I very impressed with how it turned out after reheating.Overall, I like the vibe of this place and will put aside my hatred for that pasta. I will definitely be ordering curbside pick-up again hopefully with a improved experience. :)
