Very well done local museum, nicely kept and staffed by enthusiastic volunteers. Admission by donation. Focus is on: local industries/the railroad (be sure to visit restored caboose); Japanese WW2 internment camps and contributions from internees; area pioneers. When we visited there was an exhibition by local artists on the theme of Immigration"- some of the pieces were very nice. Good way to spend 45 minutes."

A really well done Museum documenting the history of the Valemount area. Was most impressed with the Indigenous history interpretation as well as the display on the internment camp. Definitely a good place to see when visiting Valemount

It was a nice educational spot with some cool things to see and learn. It's by donation so can't really be a loss to go here. Take your family!

Great small town museum. Lots of railroad artifacts and local history, set in the old railway station. Well worth a stop!

Very good museum for such a small town. 3 floors, a caboose and an outdoor exploration area with lots of details about family life in the area, internment camps, Mt Robson and the national road system. Definitely worth the price of admission for a trip back in time.

Really enjoyed this museum. Anastasia and her team have done such an awesome job with exhibits and the programs they run for the community. The area has such interesting history and they have done a fabulous job at displaying it in a clear and engrossing manner. Will be back when new exhibits open! Thanks so much!

Valemount & Area Museum
We took a trip across the province recently since things have opened back up again. The Valemount Museum was an unexpected stop but it turned into a highlight of the entire trip. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The displays are all well labeled, with lots of relevant information to the local area. A highlight of the museum for me was how they showcase the entire history of the Valemount area. This includes minorities and women. I've been to some small museums and the aforementioned narratives are left out.
