I recently visited Katsuya restaurant for the first time during our lunch break, and it was an exceptional experience. Our employee, who typically prefers red meat, agreed to try the chicken katsu, and we were both blown away by its delicious taste. The dish was expertly prepared, and we were fascinated by the attention to detail.I must admit, I never realized that chicken could be so flavorful! The chicken katsu at Katsuya surpassed all my expectations. The accompanying sauce was a delightful addition that further enhanced the dish. We were thoroughly impressed by the flavors and presentation.Furthermore, the service we received at Katsuya was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcomed throughout our visit. The attention they paid to each dish and their willingness to accommodate our preferences was commendable.Overall, we highly recommend Katsuya restaurant to everyone. It is an absolute must-try. The food is exquisite, the service is exceptional, and the way the dishes are prepared is truly impressive. Our experience at Katsuya was nothing short of a 5-star one. We are regular customers who visit once every month, but we decided to not visit ever again from this experience. I ordered Garlic Chili Cutlet and its Garlic chips were not crispy. My friend ordered Japanese Cutlet. Comparing Saku, (because they followed same menu from them), it is way worse quality. it was soggy at the bottom and not crispy at all. Also the cabbage were too thick ( i know they cut it thick to keep it fresh because they don't have a lot of customers). Also the sauce was too sticky. I guess they put too much corn strarch. Beside, rice smells like old. I know it is cheaper than Saku, but I would rather to pay more to eat at Saku since they are opening in Coquitlam soon. We will never come back. So dissapointed

Got the original pork katsu and it tasted okay, kinda bland and not very crispy. I wouldn't get it again. They also give big portions with refillable sides (miso, salad, rice). Service was okay too.

The food was quite good. The server was also pretty good but not very attentive. I would definitely go back to this place again. The place was clean and well tabled with a nice environment. When I arrived, their music was very loud. However, asking them to turn it down, they did so immediately. I was there with a few business colleagues so we wanted to be able to hear each other. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for good quality food and decent service at a reasonable price.If there was a complaint, it would only be that I don't think they should be charging for their sauce when you want extra and certainly not $5.00. That seemed quite high to me.

Visited three days ago for the first time and absolutely loved it, that’s why I visited again today. The food is extremely delicious, the staff super polite and the interior design quite modern. Loved the atmosphere and everything, will keep visiting for sure!

Was sad because the Robson location closed but now I'm extremely happy because this location's food actually tastes better!80% Chicken / 20% Breading. Wow!The Ebi Tempura with the Tar-tar was incredible!!Very family-friendly restaurant and the service was very good!I 100% will be back.

Quaint little location. Service was fast, friendly and accurate. The food was amazing, large portions, huge flavour. The cheese never overpowered the pork cutlets, and the cutlets were perfectly crispy even when dressed with the sauce. Again, portions were huge, so if you don't have the largest appetite, you can definitely share one order with your friend and/or your partner. Chicken Karage is definitely one to come back for. Crispy outside, soft moist chicken throughout. Definitely will be back

Portion sizes are massive! Easy to find location. Ample parking. Restaurant itself is very cute with wood touches everywhere. Clean. Service is fast and friendly. Miso soup and pickled side refills!

This was my first time here in Katsura and I was very much blown away from the selection of sauces they have for the katsu and even more blown away when tasting. People see to complain about the pricing but I believe it’s fairly cheap, it’s around $22-$24 and one order is enough for two people.
