Bear Cove Cottages SportsFishing and Wellness Retreats

Wade and Shannon made our return to Vancouver Island a huge success and wonderful experience. The cabins are beautiful and clean. The view is fantastic. After spending more than two months surviving solo while shooting Alone Season Two for History, it was great to see the island from a less brutal perspective. Wade had our backs as the rescue boat captain. His skill on the water is only matched by his skill as a host.

Loved the cottage we stayed at June 2020. Quiet. Clean. Friendly owners. Perfect spot to spend the time when we were not on the water fishing.

My buddy kyle and I do a yearly king salmon fishing trip and we travel to different rivers and ocean fishing areaS to explore and tackle the great King salmon. My buddy found this place and did some research on the area. This place was awesome! The owner Wade was a great guy and took good care of us! He shared valuable intel of the area and we fished and had great success in the local area. We ate at the local restaurants and really enjoyed our experience at Bear cove cottages. I highly recommend this place. The cottages we quaint and clean! They had a great view of the water. The parking was great. Free boat launching and parking for your boat and trailer. We had eagles flying over our heads as we sat on the back porch smoking a cigar sipping on a cold IPA. My only complaint was the WiFi was spotty but that turned out to be a good thing for me to disconnect for a little bit. Thanks Wade for a great place to relax and enjoy our time.

Drove all the way from Chilliwack BC took the ferry came over to Port Hardy booking a reservation the card declined when we called the visa center it was not the Visa at all called her back and she said she wasn't going to do the reservation for us she canceled it 5 minutes before we arrived leaving us at the info center to find out somewhere to go how nice would not recommend this place to my worst enemy it was very very unprofessional and when I tried to work it out with her she hung up on me and informed me her staff was aware that we do not have a reservation there and that was that how cool to do to people that just traveled all the way there spending the gas the time and the money

I'm giving a 4 star rating because the cabins are clean, comfortable and quiet. The host was super attentive when you called upon him, and the wifi was great (not sure why anyone complained?) Anyway, my disappointment was the fact that although you do get a nice view of the ocean, I searched for waterfront" cabins

Nice view of the water, super quiet, good wifi, comfie bed. Nice deck to sit out and enjoy the fresh air.Short distance to town, the boat dock and an estuary.I thought it was actually on the water but it is across and no access to it.

Beautiful cabins to stay in with a great view of the bay. Good service from the very friendly staff, and fishing is offered, but I did not partake. Heard great things about it. Definitely worth a visit!

Recently stayed here over the Thanksgiving long weekend, particularly in Cabin #7. While the location and view was great, this cabin needs a deep clean. The warming drawer under the oven was full of dried out food, the oven was dirty inside as well. Shower still had hair from the last person stuck to the sides, as well as the filter in the jetted tub was extremely dirty. The jacuzzi tub looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned or sanitized in some time. Perhaps this was just a one off as I see others reviewing that their place was clean.

This place was a real hidden gem. A wonderful view of the ocean, and a clean and well kept living space. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond. The cottage was gorgeous and smelt like cedar. Would highly recommend.

Loved these small one room cottages with small kitchen and half fridge. Great place for the family and awesome view. Right beside the bear cove marina to launch your boat as well.
