I found out about Hamilton Family Doulas through my naturopath — and boy, am I glad I did! I felt unbelievably lucky to have Leanne help me navigate this exciting and wonderful but nerve wracking journey. Leanne helped me feel empowered and self assured, and was a huge advocate for me during the birthing process letting me know that I had options. I don’t know how I would have managed without her there, and my husband feels the same! Leanne was not only knowledgeable and supportive, but also hilarious — and brought levity along with integrity. Not to mention, the support I received afterwards was top notch. HFD makes a new mom feel prepared and cared for!

I knew I wanted an unmedicated birth with low medical intervention and with the support of Hamilton Family Doulas, I had the birth experience I dreamt of and beyond. Leanne and Rosanne are two wonderful humans - their warm, calm, knowledgeable and supportive attitude left me and my husband feeling heard and empowered. The weekly prenatal emails including tons of info on how to best prepare for birth were so helpful and we appreciated having access to a group chat so we could ask away questions as stressed first-time parents. The day of the birth, Leanne's calm energy helped me stay in the zone" during contractions and cope with the pain. She was also supportive to my husband and never was I left alone during the whole of my labour. Leanne knew when to step in and help us advocate for ourselves. Having her visit our home a few days after birth was such a blessing as I struggled with breastfeeding and she helped with positioning and identified a tongue tie on my baby. My husband and I will forever cherish the beautiful memory of our son's birth and could not recommend more hiring Hamilton Family Doulas to enhance your birth experience!"

Leanne is very responsive. She and her assistant get back to our messages very quickly during my wife's pregnancy. We asked lots of questions. My wife is very pleased with the whole experience. Leanne is also knowledgable about many things related to birth and baby. She would patiently explain the theory and science behind things, give lots of sound suggestions.We also did gentle sleep training with her. Our baby used to require 30 min+ of hardcore bouncing to fall asleep, but now he starts to fall asleep much easier on his own after 2 weeks of training. We used to be afraid that sleep training will screw up attachment, but with this gentle approach, it's not an issue at all.

Disgusting horrible people. Please do not use this company! The owner is unprofessional and a thief! I hired Hamilton Family Doulas back in September as I was very anxious and having my first child. They asked for 50% upfront before my initial consultation and I wasn’t in my right mind (8months pregnant), I was very vulnerable, and I paid the amount. Following the initial consultation I soon realised this was NOT the company for me. The owner did not share my values or what I hoped to get from the service. I wanted someone to support me emotionally and also make me feel comfortable and help me make decisions during my birth. She seemed very unprofessional. She was dropped off by a car full of children which concerned me because if she didn’t have her own car how was she going to get to the hospital when she’s needed? Anyways soon after the consultation I politely said I had changed my mind and the service wasn’t a right fit for me. They refused to pay any of my $700+ back! As a young new mother this was a lot of money for me. Bottom line is if you want an awful person who could steal from a new young mother than this is the company for you! Not the type of ethos you’d expect from a “doula” which she’s quite clearly not.

Amazing! I was hesitant when my in-laws suggested a night nanny but what an amazing experience it has been. Christine was so good with our little girl and helped me get a good night's rest while still supporting by breastfeeding journey. Advice, support, reassurance and so much more. I am so grateful for her services these past few weeks. Leanne (the owner) also facilitated a smooth and straightforward process from initial questions to final payments.

We loved having The Hamilton Family Doulas support us through our pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Our doulas Alex and Leanne were amazing. During the birth, Leanne supported us through a hard delivery - not only for my wife but for me as well. It was nice to have another person in our corner that I could talk to about what my wife was experiencing. Alex's what to expect for postpartum chat was our favourite because it highlighted questions and choices that we were going to be making soon (not just the first few weeks but beyond) and really set us up for a low stress postpartum experience.Highly recommend that everyone gets a doula not just for the birthing parent but for their birthing partner as well!

Hamilton Family doulas provided exceptional care during my pregnancy and after.Leanne and Monica were my doulas and were easily available to me via text or phone call to answer and questions or concerns I had along the way.I decided to have a doula along side with a midwife as I wanted the extra care. I wanted a knowledgeable professional who vouched for my needs and desires as I was experiencing anxiety with delivering my first child.Leanne went above and beyond and came with me to help select items for my baby registry. Her exceptional knowledge of baby products allowed me to choose items that were actually necessary.When my labour started I called Leanne who was my on call doula that day and she arrived within an hour. She picked me up off the dog bed and calmed me down within minutes. Leanne did not leave my side for the full 53 hours I was in labour. She is the true definition of a superhero.Being in one of the most vulnerable states you could ever be in, she made me feel comfortable every step of the way. Any questions that I had that were unclear by the midwife Leanne explained to me. She was able to comfort me with her amazing hugs and guide me through the contractions.After my son was born the care continued. I had home visits with both Leanne and Monica and they stayed with me for a few hours. Continuously provided their knowledge and helping me become more comfortable as I was learning the ropes of being a new mom.Hamilton Family Doulas provides a service, but I truly believe they care 100% about each and every client. I recommend having a doula to any person who is pregnant.It’s been a year since I had my son and I am still in touch with Leanne. She wasn’t just my doula, I felt like she became a friend during this milestone we shared.

After a traumatic first birth, we sought the support of a doula in the hopes of making our second birth a better experience.The whole journey was a complete night and day difference! Not only did Leanne and Rosanne support us before the birth with exercises and birth plans, but having a doula there during the birth to assist with positioning and support through contractions was instrumental in our success at a VBAC! Both doulas visited us before the birth and we talked about how traumatic our birth journey was last time and the things we wanted different this time.And having their support post-partum was also incredible. We were able to message them multiple times a day about how we were doing and any questions we had. And the post-partum visit was a great way to review the birth itself and have any questions answered.We are so glad we had the support of a doula this time and definitely contribute having Leanne at our birth as an influential factor on our success of having a VBAC.

Amazing doulas!! I could not have delivered my baby girl without Leanne by my side. She was encouraging, super hands on and extremely helpful.I reached out to Hamilton Family Doulas just a few months before my due date and was very impressed by their service, attention to detail and care during our initial meeting. They offered personalized support for our needs before, during and after birth. They made my family and I feel extremely comfortable and cared for.We’re so happy we had Leanne and Alex to help guide us through our whole journey, and I’d highly recommend their care, services and expertise to any expecting family.

Hamilton Family Doulas has been an absolute saving grace! Leanne was an absolute pleasure to deal with from the very beginning. So warm and welcoming with the upmost professionalism. We were blessed enough to have Jennifer as our Doula and she has honestly impacted the experience of being a first time mom in such a positive way. She brings so much knowledge, patience, and understanding with her. Jennifer has helped me develop a stronger bond with my little girl and has taught me so much in such a short period of time. Having her support and help through what I consider a difficult time as a first time mom to a 10 week old baby has been so valuable to my mental health. We have appreciated Jennifer so much and everything that she brings to the table that my family has decided to continue having her support us for the next couple of weeks! If anyone is thinking about or considering using the support of a Doula I strongly strongly recommend a Hamilton family Doula‘s! More people need to be made aware of just how valuable Doula ‘s are and how much of a positive impact they have on the maternal world for mom’s, dads and babies! They really have so much to offer and it is truly life-changing… It has been for me!
