Columbia Lake

A nice and calm place to hang out during summers. Shallow water levels these days at a certain end giving a beach effect.

I've been here a few times in April for the sunset views. It never ceases to amaze me. Though be watchful of flies and geese poop (a bit more than your average loo streets). (I got bit 3 months ago and there’s still a small discoloured mark on my cheek.)There’s also a really huge grassy area which seems nice for a picnic, but I haven’t been here during the day so I can’t say much.

I was here on the night of July 1st, 2019 (pictures included) - Canada day.I made friends with a Greek student at UW. At one point something happened and we got separated - never to be seen again since we didn’t exchange numbers and only just met. It was chaotic, weed smoke filled the air. People dancing with flags, laughing, having a good time, some students being mischievous, few families and kids with chairs and mini-carpets sitting, hanging out and just playing some games.I was new here and never had I seen such huge crowds turning up to see the fireworks display.Nobody knew about the pandemic that would soon come. It was amazing.Those were good times!

Beautiful! Just a beautiful place to sit down and relax after a stressful day. The sunsets are amazing to enjoy from there!

Great spot to go for a walk! SOMETIMES you can even get a pick up footy game in but uni staff are just as likely to tell you to bugger off. Miss the golf course that used to be here was a funny option. The canadian geese are the same as the rest of the uni so VERY agressive. Also don't wear your favorite shoes.

The lake near the waterloo university where a Canada Day fireworks happen. Except for that day the place is not that busy. The lake has water all the time and its close to the both the universities but its super busy on Canada Day. The fireworks is so fascinating but lasts only for 20 minutes. The last fireworks happen on July 1st 2019. The university has cancelled the fireworks and they won't be planning to have another firework night anymore.

Nice place by the lake. Barbecue and have fun with friends and family.

Nice quiet place to walk and watch birds. went on a weekday evening and though there is no specified parking but people are parking from Westmount road entrance inside before the gate. There is a weather station also there inside though protected and fenced.

A very beautiful lake located right near the university of waterloo. there's a decent amount of parking and lots of beautiful spots to take pictures. Also this is a good lake for fishing. Some bass aswell and lots of Sun fish. A very nice place to spend the afternoon.

Really nice and peaceful lake. You can sometimes see herons here, you can hear frogs, and there are also geese and ducks. Probably one of the nicer parks in the KW region. They used to do fireworks here every July/Canada Day. Not many parking spots, as all the parking belongs to other businesses or places nearby. It smells a bit like sand near the water but the ground is a bit muddy yet hard near the water. Multiple entry points through the forested area to the water and rocks.
