I had the kaarage spicy pork ramen. Wow! Tastes incredible! Would totally recommend this place. I'm coming back to try the other ramen dishes. :)

Great experience! Definitely going back!My group tried different Ramen, all super delicious rich broth, very filling.Beautifully presented.(Karage Chicken Shoyu, Karage Chicken Miso, Karage Chicken Shoyu, Karage Chicken Shio and Chicken Shio)Kyoza and Takoyaki were tasty and we ordered twice.Excellent customer service.Enough seating and Beautiful well maintained ambience.

I recently had an opportunity to dine at J7 Ramen in Whitby and it was pretty good!I had the Spicy Pork Ramen and it was rich in flavour. My friends had the Pork Shoyu Ramen and Karaage Chicken Shoyu Ramen. It was all nicely presented, and very flavourful.The decor was tastefully Japanese without being overdone. The service was very efficient. There were enough interesting items on the menu to entice me to come back.

Heard a lot about this place and finally got a chance to try. I usually always start with the same shoyu ramen when trying a new place out so I can fairly compare each location.I've heard this place compared to a certain chain before, and that comparison is a bit of a disservice to J7 in my opinion. The broth here has a really good depth and balance, and there is a nice char on the pork. The thin noodles I tried had just the right amount of bite to them.The spice is actually adequately spicy in the broth (spicier than Tabasco to me) but oddly milder on the spicy karage (seems to be most gochujang maybe?).The cook and the sauce on the gyoza was really nice as well. Really nicely crispy and great flavour.My favorite part though overall may have been the nicely runny eggs.Everything was very reasonably priced and the service was good. Would defiantly come here again over that other somewhat known chain any day.The one minor thing I had trouble with was the spoon, very decorative adds ambience to the meal, but makes shoveling in all the good broth a bit slow.

Family friendly, tasty ramen in Durham region!Food 4.5/5I got the Karaage Chicken Miso with thin noodles. The noodles were good, and the karaage was seasoned and cooked to perfection! Though the soup was a tad salty for my preference.My partner had the Pork Shoyu with thick noodles. The pork had a smokiness to it, which was nice!The soft boiled egg in both bowls was great with the runny yolk!Our friend got the spicy pork, which was a tad salty as well, but good overall.Service 5/5Excellent service! We ordered one bowl per adult, and were offered a small bowl and a fork for our toddler. The bowl was plenty filling enough for me to share with our 3yo.Other 3/5My party and I had arrived for 11:30am opening time, however they were still closed. Around 11:45am, they opened the door to tell us to come back for 12pm.

Best ramen in Durham by far! (Tested and proved) always get Spicy pork ramen and hubby gets green karaage he loooves it. Usualy get gyoza too, they're delicious!

Surprisingly good ramen place for Durham! The ramen selections are a straight copy of Kinton, but the soup is saltier and less flavourful. Probably as good as you can get in Durham region though. Pictured is the karage pork shoyu with karage ordered on the side.
