Simply Comfort at the Rideau Apartments

This our the second stay in these beautiful suites. Both experiences were absolutely perfect. Easy check in/out. Gorgeous apartments with added touches that made it feel like home. Easy walking to great local restaurants. The nearby canal is an incredible spot to enjoy a morning coffee or picturesque stroll.

We had a great stay and I would recommend these accommodations to anyone looking for a quiet get-away.Beware that this is not a hotel, so the reservation process is more complex than a typical hotel booking, but it is worth it!The historic building is comprised of recently renovated condos in the heart of Smiths Falls. Our unit was spotless, spaceous, well appointed and comfortable. It truly was like home-away-from-home! We had a nice balcony, too, but the weather would not cooperate, so didn't get to use it as much as we had hoped. There is a lovely bistro in the building (accessible from the external street entrance).We were able to easily explore the town on foot and enjoy one of the local restaurants and a gourmet food shop that served ice cream. Yum! Visiting other small towns in the region was also very convenient.A few areas for improvement:- A laundry hamper to hold used bath towels- A few more dish towels in the kitchen- Perhaps free Netflix account?- A firmer mattress would be nice

Stayed on the top floor with the terrace with a friend on our motorcycle trip. Bars and restaurants in walking distance. Appartement was beautiful, large and clean. It's a quiet town so it was great to spend the evening on the terrace having a few drinks.Bakery on the ground floor has great speciality coffees, pastries and food with gluten-free options.Had great communication with customer service regarding any questions we had.Highly recommend this hotel.

We had a great stay at Hotel Rideau in Smiths Falls! We were looking to get out of Ottawa for an extended long weekend and booked through Airbnb. We had everything we needed to cook and work while away from home, including a quiet setting, king-sized bed, and black out curtains to catch up on some sleep. There is a delightful cafe at the front of the building that has A+ espresso and food and the town is small and very walkable. The staff when booking and checking in were great too. My only gripe is that I found the condo cold (particularly the bedroom), but probably because we were on the main floor and it's the middle of February. We upped the heat but I was grateful we'd packed from extra cozy socks and sweaters!

Loved the modern design. Very clean, perfect size for 2 adults and 1 child (easily fit 4 adults). Pet friendly! Only reason not 5 * is that the sheets were not high enough thread count for my liking (others may not care). Leagues better then staying in hotel room!! Absolutely would recommend!

The rooms themselves are brand new, clean, modern, and generally well appointed. I’d give Rideau Hotel 5 stars if staying at a hotel was ONLY about the room.But it’s not. It’s also about the experience of booking, checking in, checking out, and the service of the staff while you’re there. Simply Comfort and it’s staff are far more focused on obtaining your money for your stay, then ensuring your happiness during it. The booking process was slow (too many emails back and forth), drawn out (I was sent 4 different invoices to pay) and slightly sketchy, with me being asked to email my credit card info (which I did not) and pay $500 of deposits (regular damage and pet damage) before staying, plus the room rate, cleaning fee, and pet fee. It was nearly $800 paid before I’d ever stayed in the room. While staying at the hotel, my family enjoyed the room, but the check-in was confusing, stressful and long, with us needing to wait outside the building for 15 min before being met to be let in. I also needed to call Simply Comfort multiple times beforehand for info on how to check-in. Not luxurious at all.Finally, while staying, our toilet got clogged (from regular use of the toilet) and when we called the 24/7 concierge (that is not located in Canada), we were told there was no one present to help us. We eventually had to buy a plunger and fix the problem ourselves. When the person who could help eventually arrived, they were apologetic, which I appreciated but still.I understand this is a new hotel and I’m empathetic they need time to get their systems running smooth. To improve and be a great place to stay, Hotel Rideau and Simply Comfort need to put far more attention on the service it provides to its guests.

We reserved this rental for 2 nights so we could visit some small towns in the area. We were delighted with the apartment. It was stylish with high ceilings and beautiful moldings, floor to ceiling windows and contemporary decor. It was well appointed with everything we needed and was absolutely spotless. Communication was prompt and we were met upon arrival by a friendly and helpful woman. Why stay in a tiny hotel room when you can have such a beautiful apartment? Highly recommend.

Great place to stay. Lock box bank is around back! Good to note for when you check in. Communication is amazing during e-mail, just be sure to get in touch 72 hours before as they have require a few additional items that standard hotels don't ask for. Overall, decent stay in the Presidential suite. Perfect spot for access to Ottawa or if you're going to see a concert at Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata! Going with a friend? Go for the two bedroom suite and it will save you getting two hotel rooms elsewhere!

The classy apartment was perfect for our getaway. It had all the key ingredients for a comfortable stay. The beds were VERY comfortable, the entire place was clean and glamorous. The location worked really well for our plans of touring nearby towns. There's a sweet bakery/Cafe in the building that is a wonderful way to start your day off. The balcony was a great way to whine down after a filled day with shopping. And as a special experiene we went to the Black Tartan Kitchen for a blind menu event. Strongly recommend this outing. All in all this is a wonderful spot to stay at!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clean, spacious, excellent location, and a great cafe/bakery within the building. My only issue is the spring in your back king mattress… Sadly I ended up sleeping on the couch as it was more comfortable. Otherwise, a fine establishment.
