McLean Berry Farm
THEE spot for picking fresh strawberries and other berries. Large fields with a multitude of berries to be picked, so no need to worry about them ever running out. They even have them available pre picked for purchase. Under normal circumstances they are ok with you eating a couple berries while picking, but due to Covid-19, they politely ask you not to.A standard handled basket they sell, full of picked strawberries about 5lbs worth will run you about $16.The on site store has a trove of goodies as well, from a variety of homemade jams and spreads. Baked goodies such as butter tarts and pies. It can get a bit pricey, but it's worth it.I've been going almost yearly for about 25 years and always walk away with a case of aching sweet tooth, fully cured.

Great strawberry picking in the summer and pumpkins in the fall! We filled up two baskets and it cost about $30 ($3.50/lb). You can also bring your own basket and save the $2 bucks for theirs.

Needs work. This used to be better but unlike the same family's pumpkin festival, they haven't grown the facilities as attendance has grown. First off, it cost 24 dollars for me and 2 kids, and doesn't include much. A wagon ride that is perhaps 150m (the line ups were so big we walked) and maple taffy (if you can get any, there were at least 100 people crowded around to fight for position. I like this farm, its nice but the kids have seen how they do the syrup and all the activities are too crowded. The food was very expensive for what you got, 3 tiny pancakes (see picture) and 3 sausage deep friend in their french fry fryer, for 10 bucks plus tax. no room to sit inside so we had to sit at the outside picnic table in the wind.I should have taken a picture of the crowds, but was trying to shepherd my kids to get something, and get out.I'll perhaps visit again if they improve it, but next year I'll be looking for a new maple bush after 4 years of going here. I hope they build it to accommodate the crowds.

My husband and I had a negative experience through no fault of the farm itself but I would like to point out how positive it turned out when we encountered an employee named JOEY. Very respectful kind and just a huge asset to the McLean family business. I say this because I took notice of how he spoke to other people who came there to pick berries. He made people feel welcome. I say this in contrast to the day we came to pick strawberries on the LAST day (and later in the day) when it was stressed to us at our age NOT to eat berries while we were picking. I felt it wasn't necessary to even make that a point considering the circumstances. We were picking 2 quarts. It certainly didn't leave a good taste. Thanks to Joey we will be back.

If you like watery maple syrup, raspberries and blueberries that are covered in flies (in the store) and prices that will knock your socks off, then head on down to Mclean Berry Farm !Don't get me wrong, I went there with an unlimited budget, and a smile on my face, but a small container of marmalade, one litre of maple syrup, a tiny container of raspberries that was covered in flies, and 5 cobs of corn that weren't very good, came to $48.The corn was starchy.Three mouthfuls of soggy raspberries for 8 bucks. For how much water they are leaving in that maple syrup, they have no business charging $27 a litre. The marmalade tasted good, but all of the orange rinds floated to the top of the jar before it was sealed.I wont be back, dont waste your time here. The place was full of flies (houseflies) because there is no door, and the flies (hundreds) were all over the fruit for some reason. The cashier (a surly young planet all to herself) was completely bored out of her mind. Not exactly a helpful or happy person.Anyways, I made a 30 cent pancake, and it was better than the $1.50 of syrup I poured on it.

My daughter and I picked strawberries here last year and they were plentiful and a good size. This year, besides having to walk quite a distance to even get to the patch and then even more walking to where we were told to pick, the berries that were left to pick were small for the most part, and took a long time to pick enough to fill a pail. The few berries that were bigger weren't ripe enough to pick. It was obvious that the rows had already been picked at least once or twice that day before we even got there and we were put in these same rows. When I went into the store to pay, I was shocked at the number of baskets of strawberries there were and how big the berries were, as opposed to what I found out in the patch. I made jam from the berries I picked and because they were small, it took a long time to stem and hull them before I could use them. We drove a long way to pick strawberries and were very disappointed. We won't be back.

Took my children raspberry picking last summer and the owner drove by while we were picking and screamed at me because my children were eating some raspberries. Don't all parents let their children have a few while they are out picking? We have not been bac since.
