The Shaw House Event Centre

Lovely setting for a small wedding ceremony. The couple should plan to do everything DIY; not ideal for the reception. Guests need to realize people live here and be respectful. Attended a wedding recently and it was a beautiful day, the lake accessible by garden path, lots of good wishes from passers by.

We had our intimate wedding dinner in the lovely gardens of the Shaw House this summer. It's a hidden gem and a beautiful venue. We were grateful to have had the opportunity to be on Ward's island with a great view of the lake (it's a walking distance from the beach and has a boardwalk next to it that's perfect for photos). We were planning our wedding during the pandemic, and so we are grateful for the venue's flexibility and communication as our plans shifted according to the restrictions at that time. We coordinated directly with a board member of the venue who let us come to visit beforehand and she was very helpful to us as we planned our event (helping make recommendations for arranging the boats, renting tents due to rain, etc.) The venue had lots of dinnerware, flatware, seats, and tables which was great as we did not have to rent these. We really do recommend the venue and we thank Lynn for everything!
