Had a great meal here! The bruschetta with buratta was fabulous. The mozzarella sticks are huge. My wife and I had the spaghetti Bolognese and our daughter had the spaghetti Pesto. We all loved our food and certainly look forward to returning to try other items on the menu!

Awesome chill spot for a great plate of pasta!I went for lunch for mozza sticks and the deli sandwich. Mozza sticks are definitely something to order every visit. The deli sandwich was tasty with the fresh made focaccia bread. It could’ve used a bit of acid like a squeeze of lemon juice but overall good.Dinner was also great. Pasta is cooked al dente that held up to the sauces. The Alfredo was good and wasn’t too garlicky like some places. The rosé sauce was also tasty. The meatballs with their red sauce was a standout. I can tell it simmered in the sauce for a few hours and the flavours came through!Overall, their red sauces were really great which speaks to the kind of tomatoes used as some places can be watery and doesn’t really have a savoury tomato flavour. I’m very impressed. I will definitely be back a few times to go through the rest of the menu!

We get together for dinner about every 6 months with some friends. We tried Bar Stella on a recommendation and made a reservation two weeks ahead. We were seated promptly and then advised we only had the table until 7:30 - an hour and a half!Ordered a bottle of wine and two appetizers - calamari and bruschetta. My husband thought the calamari was overdone - I am allergic to seafood. The bruschetta was good. Two of us had chicken parm - nothing else on the plate. I liked it but a small side of something would have been nice. The lasagna was very good and gnocchi was the other meal. Our server was pleasant. Our table was in the front street side in the area where the bar is located. It was fairly noisy making conversation a little difficult. There were tables on the other side with patrons sitting so we wondered about getting rushed out at 7:30. We were offered dessert but we declined because of the time constraint on the table - not wanting to rush a dessert and coffee. Restaurant lost out on extra revenue.

This was an awesome little spot for dinner. Staff was very friendly, ambience was great, cocktails were well made and food was delicious. The spritz is a great refreshing beverage on a warm day - I also recommend the bolognaise and pesto. Must try!

Three stars for a perfectly average restaurant. Nothing was wrong, but nothing made this an exceptional five star meal either. All in all Bar Stella feels uninspired. Yes, Italian, but they’re not a legacy like Taverna and they’re not at the front of the food scene like Primal. It was unfussy, I guess. My only true complaint is that the music was too loud for the size of the restaurant and there being no soft surfaces to dampen the noise. This made conversation hard, even with our server. The cocktails were good. The Hugo was a nice take on a mojito. Our server favoured efficiency over personality. The food came out quickly and was hot. It all tasted like something I could make at home by buying the “good” pasta and the “good” sauce at the store. The chicken Parmesan doesn’t come with a side. When our server offered us pepper our table found it funny that it was just a shaker instead of her grinding it. No hate to the shaker, but just leave one on the table, why offer.Overall it was disappointing, we showed up excited to try it, but likely won’t be back if I need my pasta fix.

Simple & delicious Italian, probably the best pasta I’ve had in a long time. As shown in the pictures are the Pesto & Alfredo, the atmosphere was great as well as the service. Definitely a must try while you’re in town.

Our food was really good — our bartender Brandon suggested the rigatoni and we’re glad he did! His attire was gorgeous and made us feel so welcome for first timers!! He took an interest in us and what we liked to drink and stepped out of his comfort zone to make our drinks. Highly recommend if you’re wanting a great experience while eating delicious food and phenomenal drinks!!

Newish establishment, serving up Italian food. The lasagna is, I feel the best mains they've got.The cheese stick however, is the star of the show. The shell is light and does not hinder the creamy cheesy goodness, I feel it accentuates it. The cheese itself has, what I feel, is an ideal amount of melt" and temperature."
