Carleton University

A great school! There are lots of underground tunnels that connects the buildings so it's easy to get around. They have lots of seating areas so there lots of places to sit and study. There are a lot of parking lots on campus which is awesome! It's great for those who take public transport as it's right by the O-train.

Carleton has a beautiful campus with lots of great amenities, the school is beautiful that’s for sure. The teaching…. Not so much. I was In Criminology for 3 years and it was so one sided it mind boggled me. You were told to critically think but only in their way and if you disagreed with something you were taught and then wrote about it, you would get penalized. The school was so left sided I had to leave, because I realized it would never really truly lead or teach with an open mind and would force all of their students to think only one way and that’s the last thing I wanted. So I left. It’s clearly the same as all the other corrupt institutions that want your money and teach classes full of blind and oblivious students that believe anything their prof teaches which is the opposite of what critical thinking is and I just couldn’t handle it. I went in leaning more to the left (politically) and they pushed their idealistics so hard I left leaning more towards the right (politically).

One the best in the capital region. Carleton campus is beautiful and resourceful. In the winter, campus tunnel is very convenient for walking in the campus. I suggest a visit of this beautiful campus

A really nice university with amazing locations and facilities. I will never get tired of visiting it. The buffet three times a day is great. The Rideau Canal passes along its side. There are two train stations within the Campus and the green is everywhere. The tunnels help us to avoid rain, snow or heat. Beautiful and amazing.

As an undergraduate student in Computer Systems Engineering, I don't always have a good experience at Carleton. All the professors I had were knowledgeable in their field, but only about 2/3 of them could teach effectively.For the remaining 1/3, I had to retort to online alternatives such a watching a video series of the same course, but for free on YouTube or Khan Academy to get a better sense of concepts. It doesn't make sense how those helped me understand more than the actual courses I paid a lot for. Even the textbooks explained concepts better than the professors could.In total, l only failed two courses, which I had to retake in the Summer. I noticed that the professors of Summer classes tended to be more passionate and had better pacing, which helped me actually learn. It made me realize that some professors may be only hired based on their knowledge and not by the quality of their teaching. If that is true, I wish more consideration was put into the quality of how materials are being taught.I still have about a year or two years of classes left, and I'm dreading of having another course with a bad enough experience that can almost jeopardize other courses I do in parallel.

Great large university that has the community feel of a smaller university. The tunnels are awesome for when it's cold or rainy. I actually switched from Ottawa U to Carleton and much prefer the overall vibe of the campus. The campus also has an annual butterfly exhibit in the greenhouse and many options for clubs and extracurricular a to join! The campus is conveniently situation on the Otrain line and close to Hogs back and Mooneys Bay. Being by the river is another huge plus!

Online website login is a nightmare, for such a rich school you’d think they’d have more together by now. Also a typical corporation for profit

Pursing my Masters in electrical and computer engineering. A very beautiful campus on both fall and winter. You can notice lots of activities going through out the semesters. Good commute systems and infrastructures. And I like my University.
