Slow, huge wait times, not much help at all. Nova Scotia needs more better doctors and nurses. What we have is overworked and doeant care anymore. They are on autopilot.

Outpatients is a horrible experience most times. Unless your a extremely lucky person. Was there last night with very high blood pressure etc and waited almost 3 hours still not seen. I had no choice but to leave. Was about 6 or so others there and nobody was seen while I was there. The patient number on the screen never moved until near the shift change. Pretty bad when about 4 seniors are sitting there unseen and a lady with a broken foot sitting there in pain etc for hours. With about 5 nurses all sitting in ther e all around the desk looking like they're socializing. Better off to go the the clinic in Annapolis, much more time effect there. And a few nurse where I bit rude, i don't think they liked being questioned by patients waiting.

Having not lived here long we were told “ Don’t go to Digby Hospital unless you want to die”. Eek.. we were a bit concerned when I had no option but to come to this hospital via ambulance. In all honesty, without the superb professionalism, knowledge, care and understanding from everyone that dealt with me I would have died and my 4 children would have been motherless. Dr Ron, Jenny ( from the block!), NP George and others that I fail ( my fault entirely) to remember names for were quite literally amazing. They listened, understood, weren’t judgemental, empathized and sympathized.I had lost half the blood in my body and due to a few existing conditions we needed the medical staff to trust my own knowledge of my body so they could treat me best. I owe them so much for doing this for us. As a result I was stabilized, transferred to kentville and put on the road to recovery. A few more visits back here in the days after and again, amazing attention, support and help.I genuinely believe that had I not attended Digby hospital and received the level of care I did.... my husband and children would be visiting my grave.Thank you ... ♥️

Rude arrogant and condescending. Those 3 words pretty much sum up my One and only experience at this institution. I had a considerable drive getting there as I had a very messy partial amputation of a finger on my left hand which was a result of my own carelessness. Anyway to get to the root of this message. I was told and no uncertain terms that this injury was beyond their ability to do anything and if they tried they would be putting themselves up for a lawsuit so. The doctor said again in no uncertain terms if I came back to the hospital. With this finger again he would have me removed from the property I couldn't nor would I make this up as God as my witness this is the absolute truth..

I went to the Digby General Hospital today with an issue with my ear. Absolutely everyone was very nice. I had to get an object out of my ear that was bigger than the opening. It was not an easy task, but they took it on and exercised common sense and good skills. I feel lucky to live close to people who are competent , caring and kind. From the time I walked in the door to the time I left it was about an hour and a half. I know that it is the luck of the draw as to how busy staff is when it comes to good service. Sure,,, I may have picked a good day that was not overly busy, but it is nice to know that the staff is used to being nice to people. I won't hesitate to go back.

I will NEVER go to, or take ANYONE to this hospital unless they are dying! My wife had a bad fall on the ice and impacted her head heavily on our paved driveway. Ambulance was called and they were amazing. Problems started when we arrived at this hospital. The ambulance drivers had called ahead to make sure there would be an x-ray tech on hand because they suspected broken bones. Once we got inside, the on duty doctor saw us briefly and said he couldn't look at my wife as he had just worked a 24 hour shift, so he passed us on to the incoming doctor. We waited in the x-ray department for a short time until the on call x-ray tech arrived. After the results came back we saw the duty doctor who told us there were no broken bones. My wife was in agony and couldn't even bear to have her arms touched. However the doctor proceeded to squeeze BOTH arms as my wife stifled screams. The doctor said this shouldn't be happening"

I was really hoping to get some help today. I went to emerg because I wasn't able to go to the bathroom a couple of times in the last week. Thinking maybe I had a blockage... The doctor said I was too young for certain things...made me do a urine test to rule out a uti and then when that came back clean...told me to go home and to come back if it got worse. To come back if I cannot go to the bathroom at all. Honestly, why would you want it to get worse? Why do people have to suffer? Why can't we just get the help we need. Do an ultrasound...rule out something more nefarious. Now I am stressed out and scared it's going to get worse, and something that could have been caught early, will just be left to grow and become unmanageable. I really need help, where do I go?
