The Sweet Spot

I wanted to go in and support local businesses. However, I had an unpleasant experience. One of the workers who helped us find a racquet for our beginner needs was very friendly and helpful. However, the second worker made our experience quite sour and unpleasant. When asking about prices for items such as a tennis bag and balls, he was quite rude and condescending and wasn't able to give us very specific information. He was very reluctant to help us - even though we were the only ones in the store. As beginner tennis players, we felt unwelcome and almost felt that we weren't good enough" to be in their store. Unfortunately because of that

Went in to buy a new tennis racquet and was able to find what I was looking for. They have a good amount and variety of inventory. I’m glad I didn’t have to order online and wait for shipping, plus it’s nice to support a local family run business.They may not list the item you are looking for online but might have it in stock at the store. I recommend calling ahead or going in to check things out. The staff were nice and helpful too. Prices here are fair and in line with most pro shops I’ve been to.

Came in looking for a tennis racquet, was suggested to go here by our club. Told the man working I was a beginner trying out tennis for the first time. He was not at all helpful, tried to sell me a $230 racquet, when I asked him for a lower price range he made it seem like that was the low end. Told me nothing about the differences between racquets when I asked. I picked up a racquet off the shelf and he then told me it was $99, but failed to show it to me earlier. Was trying to support a local shop but clearly was just being taken advantage of. Not impressed.

Great service. They were very patient with my indecisiveness on selecting my new tennis shoes . Provided knowledgeable unbiased recommendations . Store had a great cozy atmosphere that feels like the small town pro shop that’s welcoming and inviting.

Great store for specific badminton rackets. Very knowledgeable and able to get the right fit for my daughter!

Pros: Locally operated more than 20 years. Best place to get tennis racquet custom set-up to suit your swing and hitting style. Let the shop know about your company/GOA health spending account, they will give top notch service and care. Highly recommended tennis shop close to University, downtown and Federal buildings.

I had a fantastic experience with The Sweet Spot. I wanted to buy a new raquet, and didn't know much about them. I was walked through the what to consider and what different specs meant, and was provided with some recommendations. Then, I was able to take out a variety of demo raquets to try! This was an essential part of the process and I enjoyed it tremendously. They answered my million questions with grace and I now have a new raquet! That will be perfect!

I had a terrible experience.We drove 30 min away to here and when we asked the owner(white hair guy) he said there is only 1 piece in stock. I asked him for 10% discount.He started laughing and said Do you want me to show expensive one.I wouldn't suggest to go there again.I am not gonna go there again.
