After two visits and one take-away all I have are compliments. Staff is friendly, place has a great atmosphere. For some reason the tvs display the fireplace channel but that vibes well.I recommend the Quesadilla Gringa Lechera.Nachos are super crispy but not burnt, it's a fine line to walk and they do so well.Not the cheapest place, with dishes ranging from $15 to $25, but it's well worth it.Owners need to add a phone number to their listing to make takeout life easier. :Wink:.Recommended!!

Super great Mexican restaurant. So so many good things to choose from on the menue. Have gone a bunch of times and haven’t been disappointed. Saturday nights can get pretty wild haha

I recently visited La Kalaka Hochelaga Restaurant and tried their guacamole, fromage fondu, and licuachelas. The food was delicious and flavorful, especially the guacamole which was fresh and perfectly seasoned, The beer with Clamato was delicious!!!However, my experience was soured by the attitude of the waitress. She never went back to our table to ask if everything was ok, or if we needed something else, and when I said bye and thank her (for nothing) her response made me feel uncomfortable, because of the way she answered me. While I would recommend the food, I would caution potential diners to be prepared for less-than-stellar service, because of this woman. But talking about the other woman that is at the entrance and all the guys serving, great staff and friendly.I’ll definitely visit again, but will ask to be served by another waitress :)

A pair of friends suggested the place, and we were rather happy with all the food we were kindly served.As I entered the place, I also felt it was a bit too loud for me, so I kindly asked our waitress to turn the music down a bit, which she did.

Drinks were good but a bit pricey.The food, some were good, some need improvement. The gringa vegetarien was a bit flavourless. I would replace the mozzarela by something with a stronger flavour, maybe a strong mexican cheese. Also sour cream was very liquid.The nachos nature was very good in general, but the guacamole needed salt and more spices.The chilaquilas laka laka was very good.One thing that I noticed is a lot of French mistakes on the menu, wrong words, typos, etc. It doesn't look good for the business. Also while I understand it takes some time to learn French, it's important that people who work directly with customers be able to be fluent, at least in French. Our waitress was friendly, but she wasn't able to understand us in neither English nor French, and could not explain the menu very well. I had to use my rusty spanish to better the communication.Hope you take my feedback as a constructive criticism to have better results :)

Decent place. Very crowded and loud.Food took a while to arrive (20minutes minimum) but is really super good.Waitresses were a bit overwhelmed but never checked on us, and we were never served our appetizers (and were going to charge us them.). Which retrospectively was a good thing since the plates were huge.Would go again occasionally, but I don’t expect good service.

Staff is great and ambiance can be good if you are looking for a noisy night out with live musicFood however, is way too expensive for its quality. Think 3 amigos style of mexican" food with even more salt.NOT the place for authentic (or even good) mexican food."

Worst chilaquiles in Montreal ever, the sauce is thick so it never goes down, almost no cheese or cream… at the end you’re just eating chips. The music I way too loud is like being on club while you’re eating and there not even one spicy sauce. Not nice
