Horrible hospital,my mother was there since last night, hardly being checked on and only offered pain meds.Waited all day thinking that she was getting surgery for them to say she could not have it as she apparently has COPD which she was never told this. Now she gets sent back home where she lives alone with meds for an infection but still has to sit in pain as they refused to do gallbladder surgery for 2 weeks.Even after speaking to the nurse they didn't offer her food or even a drink.Pathetic is putting it nicely, guaranteed were at a different hospital tomorrow to get this taken care of.Stay away if you can they are very rude and do not have any compassion for people who are sick and in pain

I don’t like to leave a bad review of people who spend their lives helping others, but I feel it’s important to show the poor policies they have in place. I waited 9 hours with a kidney stone and was repeatedly vomiting in the bathroom from the severe pain. I told the staff at least 6 times that I was in extreme pain and needed help and kept asking if there was anything they could do. Triage exists for a reason, I shouldn’t be less of a priority than a drunk guy who sprained his ankle and got there AFTER me and was let in before me. He was still walking perfectly fine and I saw him leave not long after. Really disappointing experience.

The service my family has experienced this past week and a half from KGH has been beyond terrible. Its unfathinable that people are being treated in this manner and not one person cares. The doctors provide no information and actually allowed my father to leave the hospital with the ambulance neck brace on...not even the proper neck brace was given. Doctors need to be held responsible for there actions..if they are signing the release forms for patient discharge its ultimately their responsibility to ensure the patient is ready to leave and when it's a neck brace that is clearly marked in black marker showing ambulance odviously its not correct!!!They need to be held accountable..

I'm not sure why the ratings are so low, compared to the hospitals in Toronto, Kingston is not at all lacking. I've had quite a few trips in the last 5 years and have always received excellent care.

The pediatric unit is amazing. They are warm and welcoming and made my scared little girl feel safe and at ease with their kindness and compassion. Also thank you to volunteers who check in to make sure everyone has their needs met, supply activities and books etc. Staff, volunteers, donors and whoever else who comes together to make a childs stay in the hospital as comfortable as possible, thank you ❤️

Thank you Dr. Tessier for your thoroughness and time. I felt listened to and well taken care of by everyone I had contact with today.I forgot to mention on a previous post the value Shanee Barr (nurse) brings to the hospital and everyone in her care. She is the best!

I’m not sure why I second guessed posting this but I did I always hear the negative about this place yet my experience was much different.Yesterday my son cut himself bad enough on his hand that a friend/ medical progressional recommended I take him to emerge to have it stitched. I was secretly hoping I wouldn’t have to but knew after she assessed him that is was necessary. We arrived at KGH around 8ish pm. You could tell immediately we were in for a long night. The waiting room was so overflowing with patients, they didn’t enough chairs to accommodate . The triage staff and reception staff were amazing. They were completely professional and kind regardless of the overwhelming situation. During the hours and hours we waited for our turn to be seen, not one peep or anger came from the patients waiting in the waiting room. No one got angry people were being kind to one another and to the hospital staff. When it was our turn to be taken to the next area to wait again to be seen the hospital staff were just as incredible. They were kind and compassionate, it was very clear they were all over worked understaffed yet they remained incredible and kind. We were placed in the hallway in emerge but we had a comfy bed against a wall. When we were seen to have Jaxon’s wound taken care of the Doctor that was taking care of him was lovely. Despite how scared and upset he was she remained calm and sympathetic to his worries. She took great care of him and then she thanked me at the end for not yelling or getting upset with them for the wait. That upset me. I was thinking to myself there are all of these very very very sick people here. The hospital staff was clearly outnumbered and this incredible woman is thanking me for not getting angry because I had to wait for her to tend to Jaxon. Here they are saving lives, taking care of the most vulnerable people, likely going hours without breaks and the woman who just treated my son is thanking me. I’m guessing she and the rest of the hospital staff have had some pretty nasty experiences. I was grateful for the entire team last night. They are the ones that need to be thanked every day for what they do. I just can’t believe how wonderful the staff at KGH were last night despite the situation. I am truly thankful for them all!

Went for an MRI, every staff member I encountered was cheerful and efficient. The MRI team was amazing, made me very comfortable throughout the process.
