Student Works Painting

I hired Connor Fairweather to paint my newly built home in Qualicum Beach. I would warn anyone considering using this person to fear the absolute worst unfinished, unprofessional sub-trade they could ever encounter. My complaint has now been put over to another franchise in Nanaimo who called 20 minutes late for his appointment to say he was having alternator problems. That was 3 days ago and I will be hiring a professional painter to repair and finish the horrid work and mess left behind. I paid over $1,000 to a cleaner as painters had walked in paint and then through the house and up the stairs with paint on their shoes. I have photos verifying all this as it could end up in court.

2 words. Scam. Artists.

I really wanted to give these guys a good review but they just can’t get it together to say the least. The first time they painted the house they gouged the heck out of it, painted over dirt, didn’t paint areas they couldn’t reach and I had dripping paint down my trim. Round 2 was off to a better start until they damaged roof shingles after spilling paint on them and attempting to clean the paint by sanding the shingles, dropped a bucket of paint in our neighbours yard and left it for the neighbour, missed one side of the chimney completely, didn’t paint the garage door other than drip white paint down the black door and then leave it. Two weeks later we STILL have a backyard full of garbage bags and paint equipment, a rope on our roof and a down pipe still not finished!! Come on guys get it together and finish a job!! Not what I expected for the amount of money we paid. These guys are very unprofessional I would not recommend them.

Great group of eager guys and gals. From start to finish everything was handled perfectly. I would recommend to anyone.

Unreal work these guys get it done

First of all, I am very happy with the END result, but getting there was definitely a chore! They painted the double sided fence around my swimming pool. I found the two painters to be ill prepared, no ground sheets, one paint scraper (two painters), while using the pressure sprayer, the painter was painting my brick pillars which needed to be cleaned. The biggest problem was when they pressure washed the inside and outside of the fence BEFORE scraping all the loose paint from the boards. That was two months ago and I am still finding paint chips all over my pool deck every time it gets windy. WHAT A MESS!!Now I know better. I do have a good looking fence though. I get the feeling they didn’t know what they were getting into, but they know now.

Can’t say enough about Chance and his crew who did our fences and deck in Nanaimo. Excellent in every way, professional and just great people! Thanks team!!

I used this company for 2 painting jobs last year. The first one was a ceiling and they did a great job. The second one was painting 2 outside walls. They showed up unannounced several times to do prep work and power washing. Each time they disconnected my hoses outside and never returned them to their original spots. They painted one side that wasn't too bad but I can see places that the coverage wasn't even and in numerous places the coverage was not enough. The final wall they did was their last job of the season and they painted into the dark. The whole wall is full of large areas that are not completely covered. I have contacted them numerous times requesting they come and look and have had zero response. I am very unhappy with this.

Student Works was great. Turned out exactly how I had wanted. They were very easy to deal with and they scheduled me in when I wanted it done. They were quicker than I thought and I was happy with the cost. Would recommend Student Works Nanaimo to anyone who needs something done!
