Painter's Lodge, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

***We all have different needs and expectations and this review is based on mine. First of all the location is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. Outdoor patio in the main building overlooking the water. I stayed in +30 temps. No AC. This is a problem if you don’t like sweating the bed. The rooms are old and smell like a lodge. If this was a fishing lodge in the wilderness of Newfoundland it’s exactly what I would expect and give 5 stars.Pool and hot tub out of service. Lounge and restaurant hours were limited to 8pm for food 9pm for drinks. Limited menu due to a fire in the kitchen. Some investment in the rooms aka AC, (Big Ed voice, I need aircon Stat), Reno the bathrooms, and quick fixing of random issues would make this a 5 star location.

Watched otters play on the dock while having breakfast this morning at the hotel. Fresh air and quiet location. Clean rooms. There are some steps to get to the upper floors for the rooms or to the dock. Pool and hot tub closed currently. Really enjoyed my stay.

Our room was large and quiet, the location was beautiful and well kept. During our stay, we were treated well by staff on site. However, there was an error with billing for our stay and the communication to resolve it was poor and untimely. We left several voicemails, and a message with reception with no returned calls. Once we finally got through to the manager, they seemed to have already been aware of the issue and refunded our card. We get it that mistakes happen, but a bit better communication would be greatly appreciated!!

We just spent a night here. Upon arrival we were so surprised to find that our room was more like a quaint 2-story cottage. It was so spacious! Once we were settled in we had an amazing lunch at the pub. We were seated out on the patio and were able to watch orcas playing in the distance. Such a treat! The food was delicious but the best part was our server, Shauna. She was so fun and personable and really made the experience memorable. This is a fantastic property with terrific staff and we would stay here again.

Don‘t let the 3.8 rating fool you - I really don’t understand them. The location and the property are beautiful and you can have breakfast with the most amazing view. The pool was still closed so can’t say anything about that. The rooms were spacious and clean. Yes, walls are not very soundproof but that has been the case in every hotel so far and just the way houses are built here. The only thing I can criticize is that rather unhealthy and not very environmentally friendly breakfast: everything is served in little packages of plastic. And I would have wished for healthier options such as normal bread (not toast), unsugared yogurt, fruit salad or unsugared Muesli.

After finding what we thought would be an amazing place online we were severely disappointed. We expected a Marina, docks to fish off of with the kids, some sort of beach access, boat rentals, family friendly eating, and water taxi service. None of this was available… this resort is beautiful, it’s about 10 minutes out of town which is fine, because we thought we had so much to do while here… unfortunately we just ended up wandering around and will be cutting our trip short to go somewhere else instead.The room was great! It was clean, had a partial ocean view, had plenty of beds for family friendly accommodation. We were disappointed that even in 30+ degree May weather that their outdoor pool and ice machines were not working.Our battery died in our truck and the staff was quick to help us out, the service at this resort was great….We’ll try this resort again during peak season to hopefully experience all of the services we missed this time around.

After not being able to speak with someone when I called, I decided to email in. The manager Jennifer got back to me right away and has been wonderful to work with! She really went above and beyond to help us plan our trip.For anyone reading these reviews, please be patient. They are not at full staff right now and are struggling to find enough staff.We're so excited for our stay in June!!

Just spent the weekend there and what a nice place! I can’t call my room a room it was more like a cottage, it had a huge living room and a giant bedroom upstairs. Place was clean and staff was excellent! The area it was in was quite nice. Would totally go there again.

We enjoyed lunch at Painters Lodge recently. Service was excellent and the view of the water was beautiful. Eagles swooped down to catch and enjoy their lunch.Our refreshments and lunch were tasty. We highly recommend!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, unfortunately they can be lies. This place is in dire need of an upgrade, don't take your toddlers there they could fall through the railing. The pool was closed while we were there. We were told the pool has been closed for maintenance for a couple of years. There was a fire in the kitchen, we weren't told until we arrived; no opportunity to change or cancel and no offer for compensation and some locals said again!!!" they had a fire a couple of years ago!!"
