I know a senior who got a eviction notice. She disputed it as she should as it was lie after lie which ORT believed. In the decision there wasn't a single thing in her favor only Regina Housing lies. Since then, for her privacy I will call her Kay, has been looking for another place without success. Her opinions now are paying two months rent as one is for a security deposit. Her pension is just under $1900 per month which leaves very little for groceries and medications for the month. Assisted living as ORT thinks she needs and doesn't qualify for takes most of the money. I'm not sure at the time of this writing where she's going to be. Sadly it looks like Wascana Park, a abandoned house or her going to jail. I know another lady was lucky enough to find a slum landlord. Not a ideal place however a roof over her head. I've heard of others in similar situations who ORT has put into this kind of situation. It's awful how lies can be accepted by a place like this and support be neutral can choose who has a decent place to live and who doesn't.

Their forms, required fields, and general application requirements have quietly changed numerous times over the years. If you regularly apply for hearings & don't catch that something was changed again, expect your application to be declined & to receive a condescending response. Some hearing officers are nice, which is the only reason this place gets a second star. Some hearing officers are stuck in an ego trip. The new online system seems like a good direction to move towards. When they had online orientation they said people can still apply through the same old methods but would be encouraged to use the online portal. Now that the online system is in place, every application submitted through the old methods has been declined.Setting up an online account for businesses is an absolute nightmare. Like many other things the ORT has done over the years, the rollout of the new program was not well thought out.

We won our case, which is a good thing. It took nearly 3 months for that to happen. We were made to wait an additional 30 days just in case the landlord appealed the decision. We just contacted them to see when we can expect our $900 back. They supposedly aren't sending any cheques out in the mail during this covid-19 period, which is ridiculous. We received our tax refunds from CRA. Mail has and is continuing to be delivered during this pandemic. They are screwing with people's lives during a difficult financial time and with no good reason.

0 Star!!!!! Its just about impossible to get ahold of anyone that works here. They haven't responded to emails for over 2 months, leave you a voicemail with no name but a number to call back. Call it back to only get someone else on the phone who has no idea about the case file, or who originally phoned me. I recieved mail from these people with my name and address on the outside of the envelope. After opening the envelope I discover that the letter inside is someone else's case, in a thats town 5 hours away from me. Donkeys and monkeys would be better off employees than these wastes of skins are.
