Mika gave us incredible, thoughtful and caring support before during and after the birth of our little girl. My partner gave birth in the CHUM and so she wasn't allowed to join us for the birth, but she was available for help and advice throughout the experience at all hours of the night. She is really amazing and we are so thankful for her support.

During labor, Mika from Rock the Cradle was the best emotional and physical support we could’ve asked for when the medical system fails you...She helped our energy to get through our natural birth which was quite traumatizing. Her voice, words, & touch were more comforting than we can express.She helped us feel comfortable with what was happening and helped us ask the right questions and manage the different scenarii and emergencies that we were experiencing!She was very creative and very comforting during labor. She helped keep the atmosphere calm, nurturing, and supportive and I highly recommend her to anyone preparing for a baby.Sylvia on the admin side was very responsive and helpful and provided us with the best customer service we could get.Jenny was also a great and funny teacher who helped prepare us for the delivery and gave us tips and tricks on postpartum management through the pre-natal and postpartum class we took.Overall, we highly recommend the services of Rock the Cradle! :)All the best for all of you out there who are expecting :)

My husband and I got to work with Elya. From the moment we met her it was like speaking with a really close friend. She made me laugh when I was nervous and was very knowledgeable. Although I ended up having a c-section at birth, due to breech position, she was there at the hospital calming me before birth and helping in the post partum room with the baby. We were so happy to have such a kind support with us for our first baby. Thank you Elya!

We had a great experience with Rock the Cradle. Sylvia, the owner, was very kind, professional and responsive. She directed us to Mika Rock, who served as our doula.My husband and I don’t have words to express our praise and admiration for Mika. Looking back, we cannot imagine having done it without her. From the very first meeting, Mika's support, kindness and knowledge were invaluable through a difficult pregnancy.In the prenatal meetings, Mika helped us understand what to expect and coached us in making informed decisions. During the birth, Mika and my husband worked together to make an amazing support team. Mika, with her unshakeable calm and soothing voice, talked me through each contraction and reminded me to vocalize and not resist the pain. Together with her massage, this support enabled me to forgo pain medication. She also offered help with breastfeeding, making sure that my daughter and I got off to a great start and giving extremely useful advice about promoting milk production.We never expected that the reality of our daughter's birth and the beginning of our breastfeeding journey could be so close to everything that we hoped for! We also thoroughly enjoyed every minute of Mika's postnatal visit and now, almost two months later, we regularly refer to what she told us about parenting and child development.To any family considering hiring a doula, call Rock the Cradle!

Mika from Rock The Cradle exuded such a calming, supportive and grounding presence throughout my pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. She provided all the information and guidance needed leading up to the birth of our daughter and throughout labor she stayed by my side providing a vast toolkit of techniques to ease the process both mentally and physically. Our birthing experience would not have been the same without her!Mika also followed up regularly postpartum to check in and provide warmth and love during the first weeks with baby. She was an incredible support with breastfeeding and provided valuable techniques to better the experience. So much love and admiration for her!!

We had a wonderful experience with Mika as our birth Doula! Despite her not being able to join us in the hospital due to the pandemic, I felt supported throughout the duration of my pregnancy and labor. She helped me to navigate various medical interventions in a way that enabled me to have an incredibly positive birth experience.Sylvia's prenatal class was also fantastic; she gave us a good idea of what to expect as first time parents and also included some useful Montreal-specific hospital tips. The birth of our daughter and my pregnancy journey would not have been as stress free an experience without the expertise and guiding help of Mika Rock during my pregnancy and post partum and without the soothing presence of Andrea De Keijzer during labour and at the birth. No matter how much you prepare, no birth ever goes exactly as planned and Mika and Andrea were there to guide us every step of the way.Being a first time mom I did not know what to expect and Mika answered every question thoroughly and without prejudice. She went above and beyond showing us holistic techniques, as well as, sending me supplemental material to further explain any scientific points allowing us to weigh all of our options. Mika has a very calm demeanour and set me and my husband at ease throughout the process.During labour, Andrea knew exactly what I needed without me even having to voice it. She was there with a calming word or touch and was a pillar of support for my husband as well.Andrea came to our house a couple of weeks after the birth to see how we were adjusting to life with a new baby which I found very helpful.Mika has remained in touch regularly since the birth and even started a Weekly Zoom call with other first time parents. We would meet in person but the pandemic didn’t allow that this year. It is a wonderful group where we support each other, compare notes, vent frustrations, coo over our babies, offer advice, applaud milestones met and anything and everything else in between.Needless to say, the doulas at Rock The Cradle are such amazing people who truly care about the families they work with and I recommend Rock The Cradle wholeheartedly!

I remember telling my husband that I wanted to get a Doula and he looked at me confused and asked what’s a Doula? Fast forward to 12 month later, he’s the one recommending a Doula to all of our friends!I can’t begin to express how grateful I am that we had Mika as our Doula. She has such a calming effect, is very knowledgeable and really took the time to listen to our questions and concerns. We loved our prenatal visits with her! Although, she couldn’t physically be present at the birth due to Covid restrictions, she was with us on call throughout my labour. She helped me stay calm, reminded me to breathe and helped guide my husband in supporting in throughout the labour. In addition we had also taken the prenatal courses with rock the cradle and we learned so much and were provided great documentation to keep and refer back to. Jenny was awesome! Thankfully for these courses and our Doula, I felt empowered during my labour and we felt prepared for when baby arrived. Thank you guys so much!

We were initially going back and forth whether to have a doula for the birth of our daughter during these uncertain times. I am so happy we did, Mika prepared us for what to expect at every stage of the process. And we were so relieved that she had experience providing care virtually, especially when Montreal entered the red zone just a few short weeks before our due date. She was there every step of the way, and although my birth didn't go as planned her guidance and support made us feel reassured. Even afterwards her care continued when we were having breastfeeding issues. Her guidance and encouragement helped us stay the course and provide the best for our little girl. I could never thank her enough.
