I am writing this review a little bit late but I have to say I still remember how well we were treated by the owner at this company. We had heard bad reviews of Budget in other locations and were hesitant but the owner is an extremely nice man. He gave us lots of tips on how to find the northern lights. He told us not to worry about minor dents on the car because it is pretty common in yellow knife from the stones on the gravel road hitting the car. He also gave us unlimited mileage for free (not common in Yellow Knife).Two years later, I still remember the owner and his kindness. Thank you

I had a great experience with their services. Dawn, the office administrator, did everything in her power to accomodate us. She even bought a second car seat for our children. Their services normally closes at 6pm. But Ken, one of their employee, came in at 9h30pm because our flight came in late. He was patiently waiting for us, super nice, and helped us out with the rental. Overall, they made it easy for us and I greatly appreciated their professionalism.

Overall, a good experience, but there's a few things that were dissatisfactory:1. Upon arrival of the tiny Yellowknife airport, the only person at the car rental counter was National. We waited for about 20min before a fellow showed up to Budget and helped us.2. When we tried to fill up the gas on the pump on the return, it was prepaid for $20, but the gas stopped pumping at $11 something, which made me think it was full, so away we go towards the airport. Almost at the airport, I noticed the gas tank didn't actually fill up all the way. So we quickly called the employee and explained the situation. He mentioned instead of charging us the $3/liter price, he would honor the $1.58/liter price or whatever price was used later to fuel up the remaining difference. Then the final bill came.Yup, we were charged the $3/L price and when we called back to the same employee, he said he can't do anything about it once the contracts closes.And, of course, nobody was at the counter when returning the car and we had a flight to catch so we just had to drop off the key and trust it would go ok. Our mistake for trusting, I guess.3. At the time of booking, the employee also mentioned our cost of the rental will be less than that of the credit card holding fee of $200, but the actual rental (minus the fueling snafu) was around $240. So it was confusing why he would even say that in the first place to get my hopes up.Again, overall, the cars worked out fine, drove nicely, and the employee was friendly, but probably would not go with Budget next time.

What an amazing experience we had with Budget in Yellowknife. Barry was amazing to work with and so accommodating to meet the needs of our Women's National Team for Sledge Hockey. The vehicles that he gave us were really great to use as we had wheelchair users that weren't able to use the shuttle we rented but could easily transfer in and out of the vans. The vans were in awesome condition and worked well all week long. We'd highly recommend Budget Car & Truck Rental in Yellowknife to anyone looking for a positive car rental experience!
