Outstanding service during the last ice storm. Even with regular maintenance, our whole home Generac generator failed (no fault of Generator Tech Ottawa -the item had been bought through Costco and only installed by Luc. Apparently Generac has a known problem). Luc came immediately (even though he was flying out of town in a couple of hours), brought us a portable generator to help us out, and installed a new Kohler whole home generator a couple of days later. Superb, professional service. Highest recommendation for his product, service, professionalism, and honesty.

Luc Beauchamp, who owns Generator Tech Ottawa, installed my first Kohler 20 RESC generator in September 2021. I had the generator installed because I sought power and heat security and reliability in the context of frequent power outages. The first generator never worked. It took seven months for Luc to replace this generator with a new one and only after I took my case directly to Kohler. The second generator had its first test during the May 2022 multi-day power outage. It worked for two days and then failed. Despite repeated efforts to get Luc to diagnose the problem with my second generator, I received only one visit from his son at 1 a.m. and no report. I was then told that they could respond to 10 calls in the time that it took for them to attend to my non-functioning generator. Luc refused to diagnose my generator, failed to show up for an appointment, treated me with disrespect and rudeness, and repeatedly hung up on me when I managed to reach him. With the clock ticking on the warranty, I was left with a second non-functioning generator and an installer who makes money from installation and repeatedly refuses to even diagnose a broken generator that he installed. I had to find a legitimate Kohler service representative whose offices were 4 hours away to finally diagnose and replace a defective motor on my second generator in January 2023! It is notable that Generator Tech is not accredited by the BBB. I have delayed posting this horrific experience with Luc Beauchamp until I had a working generator, no thanks to Luc.After submitting a complaint to BBB, months later, I have received a comment from Luc where he fabricates the sequence of events and places blame on others for his own negligence. He is highly irresponsible and as another reviewer points out, only interested in enriching himself as an installer. He ghosts clients if they require service and repair. Stay away from Generator Tech and Luc if you value your hard-earned money and sanity!

I bought a generator that Luc sold me and wasn't even the right one i paid for. he told me the electrician was included but i had to pay for the whole electric work when I got told it was in the pricing already. I had to pay full price before even seeing the machine unprofessional works from a P.O box!!!

Terrible service from Generator Tech Ottawa (Luc). I've been trying for months to have them service my malfunctioning Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). Luc kept telling me I haven't forgot about you" but always had an excuse as why he could not come now or the near future. He was only interested in doing new-installs & annual-maintenance (oil changes) as those are much more financially lucrative. I finally gave up and found another electrician who resolved the ATS problem in an hour! For anyone looking at Generator Tech Ottawa to provide follow-up service

Highly recommend Luc and Alex from Generator Tech Ottawa for professional service that exceeded our expectations!We had not had much luck in the past with our generator. It was purchased through another unnamed company and true to form, blew up at the worst possible time (during a January deep freeze). The company that did our initial installation could not be reached. Alex was doing a service call at our neighbours’ house and came over to investigate. His dad (Luc) immediately took us on as a client and had the generator fixed in no time.Fast forward to the Derecho. Once again, our generator failed. One quick phone call and a team from Generator Tech were out to service it. This time it was not a quick fix. Luc liaised with Kohler directly and was able to replace our unit free of charge. This level of service was above and beyond anything that we could have hoped for. Thank you, Generator Tech Ottawa!

I’ve noticed over the years most people only send emails to complain ..this is not one of those..From start to finish the purchase , installation , commissioning went extremely well , the whole team has cohesive flow to it.Special thanks goes out to Blake and Ronny for their tireless work in completing the installation , scheduling and along the way making sure I was informed with all the steps, very professional.And last but not least Alex and Matt for doing a great job in explaining all the ins and outs of generator ownership and commissioning the unit.We look forward to many years of feeling safe from our ever changing environment , safe in the knowledge we will always have a back up.CheersGary

Thinking of getting a standby generator? Luc Beauchamp is the person you want to deal with. After the derecho, I reached out to Luc to get an estimate. I called three different companies. Luc came the same day and walked me through the process. Others didn't return my call. He gave me a detailed quote and explained what I needed. He told me he would drop the generator, arrange the electrician and the propane hook up. He told me to be prepared that it would take forever with Hydro One. He was right. Everything was done as promised. Luc's team even filled out my Kohler rebate for me and I got over $500 back!!! Luc and his team were super easy to deal with, great communication and available to answer questions. Great experience!

Luc installed and maintains our Kohler generator. Install was quick and to a high standard, service has also been good. What is even more impressive is how he responds to maintenance issues. Even now when generator install demand is at its peak he was at our house within 24 hours to resolve our issue and answer our question.

I've got Kohler generator installed by Luc and his team. Everything was done in time, accurately, very professionally. Thank you very much Luc! Highly recommended. Well, it was tested yesterday when a power outage happened in our area. We were so lucky to have power. Thanks again Luc!
