You can find pretty much anything here for a fair price. If you ever visited other places like Dollarama, try to think as a better version with a lot more options, a slightly better quality, but a couple of dollars more expensive as well.

OMG this place has everything. Need some chilli flavoured tuna, a hammer, a pair of gloves and a plastic skull all at the same time? That shop has your back. I'd give them an extra star for their security guard that always has something random to say to me each and every time I visit. If you need it and this store doesn't have it then, well, you'll have to go somewhere else. But you'll wish you were at Les Escomptes Lecompte.

A beautiful old school discount store with much better selection than Dollarama or what you might expect.

First I want to make something clear that could result in some bias from my review:A couple of years ago I was followed around by the owner of the establishement I was wondering what she was doing and well the other person with me suspected what was going on may have been due to racism and so he asked the miss to back down and stop being racist, she scoffed at him and left, neither denying nor confirming. That was the last time I have seen her. I am Québecois and was born in Québec but look Mexican due to also having a Mexican parent.Lately though I have returned as it is quite close to my college and needed to go buy some things. On special occasions like Halloween and Christmas the store is quite wonderfully decorated. But no matter what time of the year it is pretty cluttered but not messy. They offer a wide range of things but no clothing other then socks and underwear. Basically a more expensive version of a Dollarama.The place is quite alright and staff helpful but it is pretty cluttered and sometimes a bit too crowded. Other then that this store is alright, I would not recommend it that much though unless it is the nearest place to you.

Like a dollar store basically. Quite large store and a wide selection of products. Some gems can be found if you peruse around. Snack in the middle of the old downtown in Quebec city. Perfect place to buy something for tourists who forgot to pack something and at much cheaper prices than at a regular store.

Cross the street from Brico Deco (discount art supplies), you can nab some discount spices and herbs, christmas decorations, school supplies, makeup, hair stuffs and other bric-a-brac.I happen to frequent discount stores back home and so I'm used to the neighborhoods they're normally in and the people that usually also shop there. It's not a big deal to me. Which is why I probably loved this place.

Wow, never seen as many Halloween goods for sale, and at good prices. The store is also crammed with goods that you need around the home. I bought a 1 cutting in paint brush which would have cost me twice the price in the UK

The best dollar store yet! Very big store, lot's of items, including a wall of wallets/leather accesories, a toy section, a jewellery section, and more!

Plenty of stuff if you're in a pickle. Just don't expect most items to last, they tend to be sometimes even more cheaply made than at the dollar store. Prices range from a cent to almost 100$ depending on the item. Not always the cheapest place in terms of price. Service is usually rather slow at the cash registers too.
