Literally just got off the phone with a girl who spoke to me like I was an idiot for even calling. 1400 hours August 1st 2019. Wow. This woman had horrible communication skills and zero professionalism. If I call a union for information id like to speak to someone in a manner that isn't equivalent to speaking to someone in a smoke pit. Using the word obviously......." makes the conversation come across like the person you are speaking with think that you feel that they are stupid for not having gone over that scenario in their head. When in fact you haven't established whether this is the case or not. Poor communication style. The union itself is fine

Abysmal experience with AUPE. The representative I dealt with is surely not a reflection of a 'union activist'. I contacted them with an inquiry and upon being advised that my union representative was on holidays, I was told that the 'intake representative' that is covering for them is 'very busy' and will call when they have time. I proceeded to request their support in an urgent matter and was advised that the request I had 'was not apart of their responsibilities' and when I clarified that it is in fact exactly what union representatives are meant to do, the union rep said they would call me back....and obviously did not. Luckily, I am fortunate that I could handle the matter with other supports but definitely not who union members should be leaning on for support/representation.

Hey, would it kill AUPE to show some appreciation for long-service members? 28 years I've been paying dues to AUPE without so much as a high-five. You obviously have my address because you send me junk mail.Stop ignoring your long term members.

What can I say.....it is a AUPE HQ. Nothing fancy...just some meeting rooms. It is handicap accessible - there is an elevator as well as power assisted doors.

Literally does nothing to help workers, not entirely sure why this organization even exists. Even after demonstrating that poor LPN's with 5 hour shifts within CapitalCare Grandview needed more time and resources, the only answer they got is 'well we do see a problem here, but we will not do anything about it'. Yet apparently it is okay to expect someone to do the same job in 5 hours as someone does in 7 AND to make matters worse, no matter what has been asked of the union, the actual workers are ignored.Way to indirectly support the abuse, mistreatment of workers and a lack of fair environment for everybody involved as well as failed management. What a pathetic representation, when actual issues are shown to you nothing is being done to help people who are overworked, burnt out, depressed, exhausted and struggling with mental health. Oh and of course cannot forget about the scaring people into submission by hanging their job over their head. If you do not do what i tell you, you will lose your job. What a joke. Such amazing management, much wow.
