Great Canadian Dollar Store

worst customer service imaginable. Staff has zero desire to help customers minus one of the staff members who is usually lovely. Will NEVER support this business again.

We went here to buy some candy and we were greeted by terrible customer service. The employee had a terrible attitude and even got mad at one of my friends because he tried to pay with cash. For some reason they emptied the cash register 10 minutes before closing. We will not be coming back. Terrible place.I took this review from another account who happened to experienced the same thing

Unsatisfied, as I phoned in asking to return Christmas items that did not work as expected and was told by Addie as long as I had the packaging and itemized receipt it was acceptable.Drove in from Victoria, to be told at the till that returns for Christmas items stopped on the 23rd. Even after I explained what I was as told on the phone by Addie, they refused, due to their policy.I tried to explain that I would not have been able to get into Sidney between the 19th to today (being the 24th), due to the weather (heavy snowfall that then froze).I was told I could have returned the items to any Canadian Dollar Store, as there is only one owner. Still too late for me at this point in time.Bravo for sticking to a store policy, which should have been explained to customers at time of purchase, and not just some signage at the till, which I, and many others I imagine, did not see at time of purchase.I was told I could file a complaint with Cheryl the manager, but she would be away on holiday for the next two weeks. Not sure what that would get me at that point though.I am by no means an entitled individual. However, small gestures such as informing customers at time of purchase of policies, ensuring all staff know the policies, understanding a customer’s point of view, and having a little wiggle room around said policies would have completely changed my review.

Cashier got mad at me for paying with cash, horrible management, rude staff. I’d rather jump off a bridge than shop here again.

This store is grimy and the staff are hit and miss. I’m seventeen and once went in to purchase a BBQ lighter. I was denied as I’m too young to barbecue?Other times the same employee seems to just ignore customers. I’ve made purchases here where the staff don’t even speak to me or other customers. It’s very strange.The products are subpar but it’s a dollar store so I cant expect much. The prices are decent and the location and practical but a different store in this location would prove to be far better.

Actually shocked at the rude service I just received. It would be humorous if it wasn’t so bad. Remind me not to come to this place ever again.

I have always been very grateful to have a reasonably priced well stocked little convenience store here in Sidney.They have the best card selections, and balloons for every occasion. Great stationary, art supplies and so much more.The staff are hard workers and kind.

Super fun little dollar store!! Staff are very nice and very chill. A huge selection of kitchenwares, craft supplies, toys, cards, seasonal wares, and other goodies.They also offer helium balloon services!Great store to explore and discover random little goodies.*Prices get up to about ~$10 for larger/brand name items.
