What a great place. The staff is always welcoming in their greeting and helpful if you need anything. The change rooms are perfect if you need a dark shady corner to get away from it all. Much more classy than shooting up dope in a dark alley. Once you’ve finished injecting your medicine in the dark toilet area and left a nice surprise in the bowl for the next unsuspecting person, you can then safely dispose of your sharps in the bins they’ve provided. After a few years of coming here they finally patched the holes in the washroom stall doors and have now put locks on them! Privacy AND security! Don’t let them tell you there isn’t a pool! There is one! It’s located underneath the sinks in the mens washroom. It’s quite shallow though but you can always count on clean water being there. I’ve wanted to take a bubble bath in it forever but there never seems to be any soap near the sinks. There is a sauna too but unfortunately it’s for cleaning supplies only, people aren’t allowed in. The gym floor is large and can accommodate a lot of people, all of which tend to be pretty friendly, I just wish some of those people would put the dumbbells back in their proper spot when they are finished. It’s annoying when you find them in the opposite corner of the gym. There are plenty of machines and free weights as well as treadmills. You can start your run early when you find one of the few operable treadmills free and sprint for it before anyone else can get there. All jokes aside, in my honest opinion it’s probably the best gym in the city. The staff is knowledgeable, the people are friendly, the lighting in the change rooms is actually great for posing. You won’t find another gym floor like this one for the price point. Things break, it happens, but they’re as quick as they can be when servicing the machines. Although, I have been waiting for them to fix the counter balance scale in the change room for the last 7 years… the equipment is otherwise really good, they treat us well. Overall this is a great gym!

Let's get real this place is dirt cheap and for that you get dirt. The place is filthy, yet to see anyone tidy up. No janitor.I asked for hand sanitizer and apparently they no longer buy it I was told by desk staff. I'm not a pandemic freak but considering how gross the place it, it's nice to sanitize my hands as I leave.85% of cardio equipment is not aworking ( see photo) of approx 25 or so treadmills I think 4 work properly, 1 of 3 stair climbers and about 5 of 20 ellipticals... NO exaggeration and I've been coming to this location since the fire at 5Star for many months now with NOTHING fixed. The place is overcrowded with people on their phones taking up equipment, teens hanging out talking OR disrespectful members who irrelevant of signs constantly slam weights and equipment. It's a true peacock joint. Half dressed members not really there to workout but enjoy admiring themselves in the dirty mirrors hoping it others notice them aswell.I keep hope my location will reopen soon. It was clean, equipment was repaired in a timely manner and their was more than 5 benches.** photos are only 1 side of all the broken treadmills. The other side has 1 that works and 1 that will turn on but is stuck on a level 11 incline. It will not be in Crunch' best interest to charge me maintenance fees considering their is none. And BEWARE their are signs to keep gym bags in lockers. Ironically my 20 yr old son did that and went back to get his bag only to find his lock CUT and gym bag gone through. Nothing was taken but his items were all over the change room ( I believe someone came in while the thief was going through his bag and they got nervous and left suddenly)When he brought it to attention of staff neither seemed to care and only asked if he had his stuff there long as they cut locks after a few days??? It had not even been 2hrs.Needless to say use lockers at your own risk!!

I am very disappointed with the customer service from the owner Matt Fry. I put in a cancellation of membership 5 years ago only to discover they were still charging my credit card. I initially spoke to a staff member named Kristen about this situation who thought it was comical and she also let me know that this happens quite a bit with staff members “forgetting” to submit cancellation forms. Once I could finally get a hold of Matt he would not offer any kind of reprieve for me even though I had not been there in 5 years! He only offered me “free time”. Beware…if you want to cancel your membership…ensure they follow through. Very disappointed with the abrupt conversation with Matt. I clearly remember that when joining many years ago the conversations were lengthy and eager to please. I would not recommend this gym to anyone.

Gym is decent, atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Haven't had issues with equipment not working yet. Range of different people working out. Downfall is only one massage bed is working so there's often a wait.

I really enjoy this gym. I’ve tried multiple locations but always feel the most comfortable here.Best feature has to be the private showers/washroom/changing space. Every other location has private showers but nowhere private to change and get ready for the day.

Great staff, always friendly and always helpful. The special classes of zumba, toning, yoga and etc… are awesome. Hydro massage, tanning, and personal training, but I haven’t checked them out. Equipment is well maintained, but just have to wait a bit when it gets busy. It’s understandable because membership price is very affordable, great bang for the buck and has such great value. Highly recommended!

Got a chance to fix an issue that I had created and, the guys at the gym were absolutely fantastic. I'm starting off with a new trainer for 3 days a week for an hour each of those days. It is worth the money they're saying it's $9.99 per month but it works out to about 18 and change per month but, there are so many advantages to having a trainer and of course being able to work out in a safe and clean place. I found out that the sauna is not going to be fixed. Sorry to all those who are wondering about that.

Not a bad gym but some adjustments would make it that much better.First, the location absolutely has to be negotiated around rush hour. Located on Upper James by Stone Church, it is difficult to get in to and almost impossible to get out of if you’re there some time before and after 5 pm. Parking is less than ideal as well around meal times as people from the East Side Mario’s share a parking lot with the gym.Front reception staff seem as if they couldn’t care less being there and the few times I’ve needed to speak with one, I was treated as an inconvenience (including when I signed up and there was an ongoing problem with their system that could only be solved through their computer system). Better training and attitudes of the staff would be infinitely more helpful. I understand it is a “budget” friendly gym, however it certainly doesn’t take much to smile and greet people rather than run off to hide in the office and roll your eyes when someone asks to use the massage beds. The gym itself has a decent number of machines, a good weight section and is open and airy. I have not experienced any issues with non-functional machines. There are a large number of disinfectant sprays so that people generally can carry one around. Paper towels are well stocked and garbages are taken care of. In general, the place seems to be quite clean and well taken care of. There is the typical pumping dance type music, so if you don’t like that, bring headphones. People for the most part are there to work out but are generally friendly and seem to respect each other. There’s the occasional gawker at the ladies, however that’s really not the club’s fault.Tried the hydro massage bed and it almost felt like I should pay it by the hour. I can see how it is helpful after a hard work out of calves/back of the legs and your back. It’s quite loud so again, bring headphones. The one bed was not functional and since there are two, this could be difficult. It didn’t seem like people were generally interested in this though as most people just left after their work outs. It was a bonus as I didn’t have to wait. Staff did have to put a code in for me to be able to use it, which tied into the “you’re inconveniencing me” vibe they give off frequently.Overall, not a bad gym. You can pay for the year so that’s a nice piece in not having to worry cancelations or issues with your bank/credit card. They also have a membership where you can bring a guest every time you go, which can also help with motivation. It’s worth the try and the price break for the no frills, lack of customer service since in general, the gym is clean and in good repair.

Basic package is really cheap so they bank on you maintaining your membership when you don’t go because it’s so cheap you’re less likely to cancel. This cheap price is reflected in the maintenance of the equipment which all seem broken all the time. On moderate temps outdoors the indoor temps are hot and sweaty because either they don’t run their dehumidifiers or don’t have them. Floor circulation is poor so humidity is high and horrible. Change rooms are disgusting. Lockers in men’s room are all bent and broken just like the gym equipment. But again the price to entry is extremely cheap. I’d be willing to spend %50 more if they were willing to fix up the equipment.

Very clean gym , at least what I’ve have seen of it. I’ve never been in the change room . It does get quite busy and machines /equipment is often occupied leaving some wait times during a workout . Some machines are a bit rind down but still function , you may just have to find a pin to use because not every machine has their own pin . Some machines are quite close together making it hard to change plates if someone is working out next to you. People are very friendly in the gym and staff seems like they would be helpful although I haven’t interacted much with them since signing up . Not a bad gym for the price kinda what you would expect for $10 dollar a month. You can get a good workout in just May have to wait for machines or learn to do certain exercises with dumbbells instead which is fine by me.
