The pool is always way too cold for my kids. The need to make the pool warmer for during public swim times.

My son has been attending Kids King Fu Cardio with teacher Derek Rowe on Saturdays. Derek has 25 years of experience in Kung Fu and wellness teaching, and he understands how to support kids of every skill and fitness level. My son is building new skills and confidence every lesson. Thank you Derek and Bob Snodgrass Rec Centre for making these opportunities for learning available in our community.

What a great small town rec center. We have just started to go to swimming lessons for our little one. The website was not working for us to register and pay, so we called a couple days before and they had us booked over the phone. Change rooms have paid and free lockers. The pool has lots of floating devices even for under one year old kids. The swim instructors are fun and friendly towards everyone they have in their pool when 4 classes are happening at the same time.

I had phoned to check public swim time before arriving at the pool only to be told that the pool was rented out for a birthday party when I arrived. When we finally go to go into the pool it was slightly cold and not an appropriate temperature for small children or babies. We only went to this pool because our usual pool was closed and a relative was visiting from out of Province who wanted to see my 8 month old baby swim for the first time. While in the pool I took a photo is my relative and my son. A lifeguard later came over to yell at us and tell us that no cameras were allowed. I’m totally understanding of the rule, but maybe don’t embarrass your pool goers by yelling at them. Will definitely not be going back.

I am disappointed that Basketball gets little to no playing time. The Basketball community gets to play 2-3 times a week. While Pickleball gets 2-3 times a day. And when Basketball is on it's at 7am to 9am when students are in school. This Recreation Complex seriously needs new management and scheduling. Family and friends of mine attempted to get more Basketball hours here for the past few years and still nothing has been done about it. I'm concerned with how little this establishment cares about our youth.

Staff is very rude and seem to not like their jobs at all. I consider myself very active in southern Alberta athletics and this is by far the worst facility only because of the staff. Their rules are arbitrary and depends on who is asking. I do not recommend this facility to any one who has ESL (English Second language). Staff has little interest in athletics and appear to prefer an empty gym. It’s heartbreaking to see such a great facility be held back due to just poor decision making and very little enthusiasm, compassion, and common sense for the users of the facility. I strongly encourage the staff to look to athletic facilities like the ymca, MNP Center, any other public gymnasium for guidance on how to schedule, treat patrons, and support people’s path to healthy lifestyle choices.I know I’m not alone. Lots of reviews agree with me and so many local people have the same feelings. This problem is holding High River back and I feel powerless to make any change.
