Moving to a job where I will be wearing suits every day I figured it was time to buy something proper. I walked in on the first morning of lockdown re-opening without an appointment and Wayne took care of me straight away. The whole experience was excellent - Great customer service and I have no doubt that if there was any issues (there weren't), they would have been taken care of. The quality of these Canadian made suits is remarkable. Could you pay less for something imported? Yes, but the value for money is unmistakable and with their tailors on-site the alterations are first class. I am extremely happy and looking forward to wearing these suits every day!

E.R. Fisher Menswear on Richmond Rd., a long-standing, family-owned menswear boutique, is of the highest quality. Products are of the highest quality and variety. In-house tailoring, 2 levels of beautiful clothing-formal, business and fab selection of sportswear. Every salesperson there has years of fine clothing expertise. As for Garry as he knows every product there. Quality comparable to the finest boutiques and pricing is excellent. It’s worth the trip to view the sweaters alone.

For people who don’t want to read through this let me save you some time. Don’t waste your time or money here. Take my advice and go straight to SURMESUR on Queen St. You will not regret it. Now let’s get to it.I never leave negative reviews as I can usually try and understand if people are having a bad day or are stressed or busy but this experience has continued to leave a bad taste in my mouth.I came here last week with my fiancé to get a custom suit for our wedding. We had looked for custom suit stores online and both agreed this looked to be a great place. I was excited for this experience for my fiancé but we left feeling so discouraged. We were treated like we were beneath this store or it’s usual clientele.When we arrived we saw the sign that upstairs is where they have their custom suits. We went upstairs and found it to be empty. Soon after a salesman followed us up and then stood in the middle of the room watching us but never speaking to us. When I attempted to interact with the salesman I received nothing but 1 word answers. I asked if they had fabric swatches and I got a “yes” with no further assistance. When I found a small board with a few swatches on it I asked him if this was all they had. I received a “no” from across the room. When I finally asked if he could help us and tell us how this process works as we’ve never had a custom suit made. The salesman Wayne Scrim walked over and the first thing out of his mouth was “Well if you are going to purchase a suit today I can help you”. My fiancé and I were both offput by this comment. We told him we were looking for a custom suit for our wedding. We came in ready to spend money but this man was speaking to us as if we were wasting his time. After telling him we needed a suit for our wedding he continued to treat us the same. Reminder we were the only customers here at the time. The attitude of this salesmen was quite literally pushing us out of the store. There was no effort put in towards helping us, our entire presence felt like we were just one big inconvenience. We tried to work through this and look through fabrics. Wayne stood directly beside me and watched my every move as I flipped through fabrics but again offered no insight or help. When I tried to put the fabrics back he took them from me and said they needed to be put back in a specific order. We then asked about customization of their suits to which we were told there was none, a suit is a suit and we can choose between 2 or 3 buttons. My fiancé pushed to be fitted/start trying on pieces and again we were given the impression of being an inconvenience to this man. I’ve never had to try so hard to obtain info from someone, he would sigh and look annoyed if he had to do any amount of work and was not helpful in the slightest. By this point we both just wanted to leave. It was clear we would not be giving any money to this establishment and my fiancé wanted to stop looking for a suit altogether. When Wayne pushed the next steps of measurements and deposit we politely said we would continue to look around first. When my fiancé asked if he should still get measured Wayne replied “Well I don’t know want to spend any more time than I have to”. We asked for the fabric info we liked to be written down and the suit size my fiancé tried on. Wayne said he would take his own notes. We asked again so he wrote the fabric down. I asked again to have the suit size and Wayne refused saying he would write it down in his own notes. I hope I conveyed our experience well because I have never felt so unwanted in a place where we would have spent a few thousand dollars. I hope the manager reviews how their employees treat people.On a good note this pushed us to a place nearby called Surmesur where we had the most amazing experience. 10,000 fabrics, every aspect customizable, so friendly AND less expensive (though I would’ve spent over budget for them). We ended up recommending them to our friends who are getting married and their entire bridal party. So think twice before treating your customers so poorly.

Yesterday, I picked up my new sports coat and a pair of slacks. Both were altered to fit perfectly. Nick and Garry were both very helpful throughout the entire process. It is great to know that there is still a menswear shop in Ottawa that carries excellent clothing and is able to take the time to make sure you get a well-fitting outfit.

Loved every minute of my suit fitting experience. Had a three piece suit tailored for my daughters wedding. Mr. Peter Fisher was great to work with. He took his time ensuring I got exactly what I wanted. The end result was a luxurious grey herringbone suit that fit perfectly. Amazing experience.

Great service reminiscent of a bygone era where your tailor knew all your measurements from the moment you walked in. Certainly not the cheapest place, but when only the best will do trust E.R. Fisher. Ask for Wayne.

Rented a tuxedo. Amazing service - tux looked fantastic! Great service - super helpful staff. Large selection. The rentals are shipped in from Montreal so they take measurements and order. The suit came as a perfect fit. Highly recommended!
