White River Suspension Bridge
Beautiful trail with awsome scenery. It was very well maintained and cleared while preserving the natural state of the forest. Also not too busy so you basically have the trail to yourself!

Coming from Pukaskwa (Hattie Cove) a day after a thunder storm. We left 7am, got to the bridge at 930, stayed there for at least an hour (had it all to ourselves the whole time) and got back by 12ish. 4ish hours + time for photos and hanging out at the bridge).Be warned that there is a lot of down climbing to the bridge, very buggy, muddy traps and puddles if it rained. If you have bad knees, walking sticks recommended. Going back up is more challenging. Around 1030ish on the way back we saw the crowd starting to make their way to the bridge. So if you want to avoid people, wake up early. Trade off is that you won't get a view with the sun hitting the water in the afternoon, you'll be in the shade instead. There is a lot to see on this hike and a lot of variety of terrain so there was no boring moment. It's a long way but was very fun to do.

Beautiful spot indeed. We were there with our boat, left at anchor in Playter Hr in August 2006, and hiked over after having found a trail through the forest late in the afternoon. Stunning. Seems they've since replaced the bridge. Well worth the walk!

We did the day hike - we went to the suspension bridge and then a little further to see some waterfalls, as was recommended by some hikers on the trail. It was a solid recommendation! It was only a few kilometers further to two different waterfalls. The first was a little off trail along the riverbed, involving some steeping from rock to rock to avoid wet feet, and the other was a bit further up river and just off the trail. It was a beautiful hike, not buggy in September, and to the trail for these 10ish kilometers and back was never hard to find. Took us approximately 6 hours, including our lunch break at the falls. Good footwear recommended! The suspension bridge was super cool, especially when you think about how they would have had to make it! Crazy!

We took the 20 km loop out of Pukaskwa and it was a fabulous little hike. The first 3 - 4 K were a little scrambly but the rest of the hike was a very easy walk. The suspension bridge is well worth the trip. Hanging some 100 ft over the White River in a spectacular location provides some amazing sight lines.Highly recommend.
