Joyland Theatre

Have wanted to come here since before the pandemic. Finally made it a date and my wife and I came expecting a small town theatre experience and boy it did not disappoint! Watched Top Gun Maverick, the sound was great! Enjoyed our view from the balcony and thought the pricing was very reasonable. Service with a smile too! Can't wait to come back with the kids!

7 bucks for kids and 10 bucks for adults not bad at all.. the only cinema at Strathmore I only watched blockbuster movies like black Adam. Very affordable and money value fir what you spend . Support the local and your own community .

Brought my son here a few years ago, great place. Great popcorn. Great staff. Definitely need to come back :)

This is such a great movie theatre!The updates that the owners have done with the marquee outside , movie posters inside, chairs, and interior really give it that golden age of cinema feel. Also they make the best popcorn out of any movie theatre I’ve been to. Also the price can’t be beat.I highly recommend anyone that lives in Strathmore to make a visit and watch a movie, and even if you live in Calgary to maybe one day make the trip out.

Love having this cozy theatre in our town, great for date nights. The seating is good, including a balcony, and the popcorn is always top-notch too.

What a charming small town Theatre. The Dolby Digital makes the surround sound even better in a smaller theatre. Remember to bring cash for tickets.

What a beautiful old theatre. Under new ownership and completely restored to it's original glory. Really feels like your going out to the movies like it use to be. Staff where very friendly. Projection and sound are excellent. It even has the new Dolby Atmos sound system! Popcorn was some of the best I have had.Excellent! We will be going back for sure!

The theatre itself is great but the management of this place is awful. The theatre is amazing for its aesthetic, good for the family and reasonably priced: BUT THE MANAGEMENT DOESN’T CARE.My family and I went in to see “Minions:Rise of Gru” and there were 9-12 year olds throwing popcorn, jumping on seats and screaming. I can appreciate the memes but they ruined it for everyone and sent my sister into a anxiety attack. The manager in that night did nothing, not a single thing, to stop that from happening. These kids went in unsupervised and RUINED the movie. This happened to me while watching IT: the second chapter, the staff did f*** all to stop teens from messing around.-2 stars. Will return, but NEVER for a debut on a movie ever again.
