Lux Cinema

A very rustic and old-school cinema in banff. This is not a modern cinema with recliner seats!! The entrance is not wheelchair accessible. There is a straight up flight of stairs you have to climb to get to the cinema and as far as I know (I’ve been here many many times) there isn’t an alternate entrance.They have alcoholic options for drinks, which is pretty cool, and the food is good - but it is standard movie theatre food (and prices).Their website is up to date and very easy to use and I always prefer to book my tickets online rather than at the theatre itself.Staff have always been very nice too!

Small and quaint place. Looks old but is in good condition. Screens are a little smaller then most theatres but they get the job done. If they have the movie you wanna see go for it, they're not too harsh on the wallet.Movie starts suddenly, no warning, once the commercials start showing you have maybe 2 minutes to be ready.

Excellent little theatre. Quality is outstanding and the staff is super friendly. Prices are really good being Banff. Beer, soda,popcorn and candies available.

For Banff this was a little disapointing. The place was pretty beat up inside and quite dated. The tickets were cheaper than most places which was nice. I did enjoy it but i think a little upgrade is necessary!

Great to have this available. Clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and kind. Me and my kiddo went on a Friday evening. Bought tickets in advance just in case it was busy. Only challenge is parking, so plan in advance. Highly Recommend!!

Screen and sound OK, but what the helll with entrance and exits? Walked round the front several times before figuring that you went up the stairs. After the film no-one could find their way out - took several of us 3 or 4 dead-end doors until we found exit. OK, mildly amusing but what if there were a fire. LUX you REALLY need to put some better signs up, seriously.

Came here to see the Evil Dead Rises with my friends. The Candy Bar service was good and the cinema seems clean overall including the bathrooms. The seat spacing is a little small so if you're kinda tall it may be a little cosy.

Cute little local theatre. They have good snacks and you can even buy beer to take into your movie. Seats are a little older and smaller but it's a quaint little spot that's been around for ages. Happy to see it being kept alive.
