Pat helped me through a very difficult time. I had lost my work due to covid, and then after spent several months caring for my dying grandmother. I was feeling very lost and confused about what steps to take for my future. I was very depressed when I first started with Pat.Pat guided me towards resources that helped me learn more about coping strategies for my own personality -introverted, sensitive, empath, creative...She gave me examples of how other people similar to me in different ways are thriving. I am currently back in college for work I am passionate about. I would highly recommend Pat to other creative sensitive souls.

Pat from Career by Design helped me to realize my full potential. She opened up my perspective and changed my outlook on what I've accomplished in my career journey. Due to the pandemic, my hours at work were becoming less and less frequent and for months at a time we were closed all together. I was lost in thought. What is my direction when/if I return to work? What is the direction that my industry is going in with these crazy changes happening? Am I still the same person after 6 months? All these questions were going through my mind plus a lot more. I figured that because I have this time off that I should put it to good use and find a Career instead of a Job.When I met Pat with Careers by Design we instantly connected on many levels. I really feel like I got to know her as much as she got to know me. There were times when I was doubting what I was doing and I'm sure I am not the first to experience that however each time we met I was reassured that what I was doing was going to really change my life for the better. We really got to the core of what makes me happy and I realized how unhappy I was working at my current job. When we were brainstorming together we were coming up with career options that I never would have even guessed would be suitable for me. I really is amazing what you can think of when you remove your head and use your heart.To say that my road ahead of me is over and that I have made it would be untrue. But I'm okay with that. I now have something I never had before meeting Pat. Direction.

Careers by design was a great organization to work with while I considered a new career direction. Pat in particular was very helpful in many ways. Specifically guiding me in exercises that pinpointed what was important to me in a job as well as what kind of organizations fit that description. Kudos!

I'm very satisfied with the work that Pat and I have done together over the past year. I've made great strides and I've come a long way. I've found a foothold in the learning field and Pat helped me tremendously with the transition. That's really all I could ask for! There's even more progress on the horizon, as I have a lead for a side gig to go along with my new part-time job. So I can say confidently that I've completed the program with a notch on my belt and some arrows in my quiver.

Careers By Design was a great experience! My counsellor Pat did an excellent job of breaking down my thoughts and fears to help me better understand my goals and desires for a work/life balance. She provided me with several excellent resources to help identify my interests while also working through mindfulness exercises to calm my brain. Careers By Design did not solve my career dilemmas but I have learned that you should not enter counselling with those kind of expectations. What they did do was provide me with a strong base to move forward and helped me land a stepping stone job that may lead to other opportunities. I highly recommend Pat and Careers By Design!
