The Camera Store

Upgraded my D7000 to the z7ii after much discussion on the pros and cons of the z7ii and D850. Graeme gave me huge insight into the really nit-picky technical features and helped me understand some key differences. Eventually landing on the mirrorless option and choosing a Tamron 24-70 F/2.8 F-mount to adapt into the z mount. Switching over much of my kit from crop sensor to full frame also requires some new filters and he found me two perfect matches for the versatility I am looking for while keeping future lens purchases in mind. First option was a ND kit with a selection of soft grad ND and standard rounds for a range of lens diameters which ended up being a little overkill for right now. He also showed me this really cool H&Y variable ND that just hit the range of stops I was looking for, built in polarizer, AND fits a range of lenses all built into one unit. Coming back ASAP to pick that up Graeme! Keep up the great work!Now to wait for my lens to come in to really see what this new workhorse is capable of.

I had a really unfortunate event this afternoon. Around 4:30PM I went to the store to buy an A7IV while my partner had a look at the snowboard store located right across the street. I parked my car at your parking lot and went to drop her off before making my way to get my camera. However, I was rapidly approached by a very rude older man who came running from inside the store, and began screaming at me to move my car from your parking lot. I tried explaining to him what was happening but he turned his back at me and just yelled that I had to go to the camera store first if I wanted to park there. I find this really disrespectful and this person is absolutely unfit to work with customers. I am really disappointed as I have been a long time customer from your store and have spent a lot of money in there. I have not only purchased most of my camera equipment there but also constantly come back to buy my rolls of film with you. After all that, I decided to go buy my A7IV at Viztek or Saneal Cameras where I’ve been treated with respect, and will not be coming back to this place again.EDIT: As I am sure you have read here I was there as a customer to buy a camera. I was simply accompanying my partner across the street to her destination. It wouldn’t have taken me more than 1 minute to come back. I understand that you must have a strict policy about your parking lot, but it can’t be used as an excuse for being rude to people. I have absolutely no issue with the policy. The issue is the way that the employee handled the situation. He didn’t want to listen and was extremely rude, wrongly enforcing the policy, and costing you a sale and a returning customer.

I always enjoy visiting here. Unlike some other retail environments these days, Someone is always available to help You. I do enjoy photography as a hobby a lot, even thou I am as amateur as photographers come. Every couple of Years I like to get a touch crazy and spend $3-4k on a lens. When I do, I usually like to engage in that kind of retail therapy here. In between those big purchases, they always have what I need whether it is a inexpensive blower/brush, memory card or a new bag. The Staff is always genuinely happy to see You and knowledgeable. So whether Your a Pro or a eternal Beginner like Me, I think You'll enjoy visiting The Camera Store.

Best Camera store in Calgary for service, instruction and sales. I recently traded equipment I was no longer using felt it was time to upgrade my camera to the Olympus OM-1. Graham did a fantastic job with my trade-in needs but most importantly explaining all the new functions and menu’s on my latest purchase. Thank you Graham for your patience & teachings of all the latest features. Would highly recommend visiting this store.

Such a great store to visit! Everyone here is more than helpful and is never afraid to ask another colleague for answers they may not have. I have been more than happy with all my experiences here. When I walk in to this store I do not feel like an inconvenience, and I am encouraged to look around and ask question! Well done everyone!

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with this store. Although I have shopped here many times before, this was by far the worst experience of my life. Earlier today, around 1600hrs, I parked my car in front of the store with the intention of doing some shopping in and around the area. Suddenly, a store employee named Russ approached me and demanded that I move my car, insisting that I was not directly entering the store. However, at that time, there were still more than five available parking spaces. I explained to Russ that I planned to make some purchases in the area before eventually shopping in the camera store. However, Russ spoke back to me with an accusatory tone, insisting that many people lie about their intentions and assuming that I was not a customer of the store. I attempted to reason with Russ and informed him that I would make a purchase before entering the shop, but he refused to let me in. Eventually, I managed to enter the store and select the item I wanted to purchase. As I attempted to pay for my item and address Russ about his behavior, he continued to argue with me and refused to apologize for his incorrect assumptions. Furthermore, he even went so far as to take the item out of my hands and deny me service. When I asked him if he was the owner of the shop, he responded by stating that he was the floor manager and that he had the power to make any decision he wished. He then went on to demand that I leave the shop. Throughout the entire interaction, Russ refused to acknowledge his mistake and never once considered that he had made an incorrect judgement. I strongly urge the senior management to take note of my feedback and consider whether Russ is the right person to manage the camera store. I hope that Russ will contact me and apologize for his behavior.

I bought my first good camera from The Camera Store. I had never had a really good camera. Wanted it for a trip where I was going to be Jet spotting. I forgot the gentleman's name who helped me but he was great. His advice allowed me to get amazing pictures and was right for what I wanted the camera for. I called originally, and he stayed on the phone with me for 30min awnsering all my questions. He had everything ready when I arrived, so it was easy to pick up, pay, and leave. 2 weeks later the extra battery I bought failed and they helped me test it in store and replaced it hassle free. I would recommend The Camera Store.

Ive rented and purchased equipment from shops all around the world - from Vancouver to Paris and I have never seen a more courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful staff than the folks who work at The Camera Store. They have equipement for purchase that ive literally never seen anywhere in the world, the staff are SO friendly, super professional and total camera geeks just like me. But! if that wasnt enough; the people who work here are SO DAMN HELPFUL! I am FOREVER grateful to Russ who helped me get rental equipement that literally saved the wedding I was photographing. He went above and beyond to make sure I got the help I needed to make sure my wedding was a success and without his help, I would have died. I cant recommend the staff at The Camera Store enough. This is your one stop shop for the best of the best camera experience in Canada.

Andrew and the great guy at the Sigma table were awesome!! I am a total beginner, but they brought me up to speed fast, and made new concepts digestible. Quick, knowledgeable, friendly, and made my first lens purchase perfect. THANK YOU!

I live in Vancouver but have bought numerous cameras and lenses online from The Camera Store over the years and have nothing but good things to say. The staff are wonderful via email and always inform me promptly of things I may need to know about my order. It's the personal, friendly touch that keeps me coming back (plus their prices). I have never set foot in the store but if I was in Calgary and needed photography stuff, I know the first place I would go!
