ROSE’S NAILS & SPA - Morley Trail, NW

I have been here twice and both times were great! I linked photos of the acrylic work done by Rose (the manager) and Ruby. Rose and I spoke a lot about life and travel, she is my go-to nail artist in Calgary.

Absolutely would recommend. Have gone multiple times now and they always do a phenomenal job. They never rush and take their time making sure my nails are well done. They hold up better than any other nail salon I have ever been to.

This is a wonderful location with lovely ladies who do fantastic work! I really loved my time with Ruby, she was so sweet and really put a lot of effort into my form. I got tips done and the transition from cuticle to the nail bed is practically seamless! Suffice to say she “nailed it” and I really appreciate her time.

This is a “pay attention” to detail nail shop - but not pretentious. Feet were cleaned- scrubbed- filed-with calf/foot massage with oil &stones. It is the best pedicure I have had in a long time - Michelle even got rid of my inside right big toe ingrown hang nail! No more pain.

Staff were friendly, however the pedicure felt as though they rushed through it. One of the ladies would stop a service to answer the phone repeatedly. Toenails were trimmed with a nail clipper, filed just to go through the motions, as they were literally left uneven, sharp and not shaped. All cuticles were left on the nail bed (the old cuticle that you would push back with the pusher and then cut with the cuticle cutter), so I'm not sure what they were trimming. Nail polish was shaken vigorously (which creates air bubbles!). Base coat was skipped, tried to ask but my inquiry was ignored. Nail polish was streaky and thick, so they added a polish thinner and applied a third coat. All their polishes were old and thick, and not a good brands or selection of colors. Top coat was applied but not over the whole nail so you could see where the top coat did not cover. Polish was left on my skin and cuticles. They said I could relax in the chair to dry (only some of us got a fan and the others didn't), but then was booted out so they could move on to another client that walked in. Pedicure chipped with a week, usually it lasts over a month when I do my own. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place (at least not for pedicures). You get what you pay for I guess. Perhaps they get their good ratings from acrylic/gel nails and cheap prices. For some background, I was a esthetician in a previous life and this is not how a pedicure is done.

Cathy was so sweet!!! She helped me pick out the perfect colours for my skin tone and I love how it turned out. The prep was also very well done, and everything in the shop was clean and sanitary!Edit: The first time I had gotten my nails done it was a pleasant experience (pink gel) but I can not say the same for the second time. I had gotten red dip nails and there was no preparation at all, after a week you could see my cuticles crusting around the polish and I had to take it off myself. I decided to get the matte top coat as well (I’ll admit they did recommend against it) and it ended up being very streaky - if you do decide to come here, do not get it. I can definitely say I will not be coming back. In addition, my mom was getting her nails done and the lady was very rough with her hands and had rushed the process. I will be going to a different salon for removal because quite frankly I am afraid of how painful it will be here.

I got my nails done three days ago.3 nails were chipped within the first 24hr and you can see from the attached photos that they did a very poor job painting them. The edges have one coat and the top has two, but two was clearly not enough with this polish.. The lady doing my nails spent a lot of time texting without even washing her hands between using her personal device and finishing my nails.
