Back of Beyond Equine Centre

Amazing adventure into the woods being pulled by horse back on a buggy in the warmer months that holds up to 6 people or in the winter they use a slay. Awesome staff that works there and very knowledgeable staff. Thank you for giving us a great weekend.

A great family experience. We went Feb 2021, during a beautiful snowfall and the scenery was breathtaking. Very friendly and welcoming staff and owners of the property. We had a sleigh ride pulled by Duke and Eddie (horses) through the forrest. Afterward, a fire pit, hot chocolate and marshmallows were waiting for us. They offered us blankets to stay warm and my 3 kids (ages 4 and 2 year old twins) loved every minute of it!

This place is magical! We had an amazing sleigh ride with Kestral, enjoyed the hot chocolate and marshmallows, and also got to brush some horses.The hosts are very kind and the ride was breathtaking. We got to enjoy the outdoors and see some deer too.I would highly recommend a visit to this centre if you’re in Muskoka. In terms of affordability, it’s well-priced.

Wow!! What an experience! We booked a one horse open sleigh for our family of 4. Winter sleigh ride through the trails was amazing and our of this world. My boys ( 8 year old and 2 year old) enjoyed it immensely. It was a 40 minutes sleigh ride through various trails followed by hot cocoa and toasted marshmallow by the fire. Also, my boys enjoyed petting and brushing the horses. Cathy and her team are very welcoming and made the experience extra special. Thank you Bill for helping get our suv unstuck :)

We gave a surprise 8 th birthday gift to our little girl , the sleigh ride. We have never done this before and i guarantee you , you will not be disappointed. From the sleigh ride, to friendly staff and tour of the horses, everything was amazing. Ofcourse before I forget, the bonfire and hot chocolate to warm ourselves. They made us very comfortable with hot water bags, blankets and very clean place. I highly recommend for any age group.

We had a wonderful sleigh ride here in mid March, it was a beautiful, warm sunny afternoon. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We met several horses, and learned about their stories. Many of the horses here are rescued. We brought along our golden retriever who was excited to see some horses. After the sleigh ride we had hot chocolate by the fire pit. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

I went to back of Back of Beyond Equine Centre today, with a group of Hispanic friends, who had never experienced a sleigh ride with horses. It was an unforgettable experience. We were introduced to the horses, helped up onto the sleigh, given warm blankets to cover our legs and even a hot water bottle to keep us cozy. The horses were extremely well trained and the sleigh ride was smooth and totally enjoyable. I think the highlight of our trip was to meet a doe and her two fawns who came out to have a treat. When we arrived back at the barn, there was a crackling fire to welcome us, marshmallows to toast, over the fire and delicious hot chocolate. The professionalism and organization was outstanding as well as the friendliness and information that we were given along the trip. I would love to return with my grandson.

Back of Beyond was such a fun and unique experience for our family. We were staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott Gravenhurst Muskoka Wharf and drove up to Huntsville for this. It took us about an hour because of the weather and road conditions, but it was well worth the drive. Meeting the horses and learning how they found their way to Back of Beyond was wonderful. We arrived just after a snowfall, which made the sleigh ride through the forest with Eddie enchanting and lovely. The blankets and hot water bottles ensured that we were kept warm and comfortable throughout the ride. The hot chocolate and marshmallows were a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and will definitely do it again!
